Seaside Streets, Coast Road Commutes, Mobile Tyres
Whitley Bay is a coastal town where most driving falls into two camps. There are the commuters heading inland on the A1058 Coast Road or the A186 and A192 towards the A19, and there are the short, stop-start trips around Monkseaton, Hillheads and the seafront, where parking means squeezing in alongside a high kerb.
Either kind of journey can end with a tyre that needs attention. When it does, one of our mobile fitters comes to the car, whether it is outside your house in Whitley Lodge, on a side road near the promenade or in a car park in town, and fits a new tyre or repairs the old one on the spot. We operate 24 hours a day, every day, and we aim to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases, depending on traffic and where in town you are.
Why a Mobile Fitter Makes Sense Here
Getting a car with a flat to a tyre bay is awkward, and pumping it up to "just get there" can wreck a tyre that might have been repairable. A mobile fitter avoids all of that.
- Tell us about the problem. A photo over WhatsApp of the damage and the sidewall markings helps us bring the right tyre.
- A nearby fitter is assigned. Our network numbers more than 100 mobile fitters around England and Wales, many with decades of experience.
- The work is done where the car is. Free balancing and free disposal of your old tyre come as standard, and new tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee.
- You pay at the end, by card, cash or bank transfer. No hidden fees.
Services Available in Whitley Bay
Our mobile tyre fitting covers anything from a single replacement after a kerb strike to a full set before winter, with premium, mid-range and budget tyres to choose from.
Picked up a screw? Puncture repair is often possible if the damage is in the middle of the tread and small. Sidewall cuts and splits can't be repaired safely, so the fitter replaces the tyre.
Our van tyre fitting helps builders, decorators and delivery drivers working along the coast, and breakdown recovery is there for when a wheel is too badly damaged to fix at the roadside.
From Monkseaton to Seaton Sluice
We cover Whitley Bay town centre, Monkseaton, Cullercoats, Hillheads, Hartley, Whitley Lodge, Brierdene, Wellfield and Earsdon, along with Shiremoor and Seaton Sluice up the A193. Fitters also attend the A1058, A186, A191 and A192.
Summer weekends bring extra cars to the seafront and the streets behind it, so our fitters are used to working in busy parking areas and finding a safe spot to jack the car up. If you are visiting and get a flat, give us the nearest street name and we will find you.
Heading south, North Shields and Tynemouth are minutes away. Further up the coast we cover Blyth, and inland we go out to Cramlington.
Parallel Parking and Sidewall Damage
On streets lined with parked cars, a lot of tyre damage happens at walking pace. Clipping a kerb while parallel parking can scuff an alloy, but it can also pinch the tyre's sidewall against the rim and break the cords inside.
After a hard knock, run your hand around the outer sidewall and look for a bulge, a blister or a cut. A bulge means the tyre's structure has been damaged, and it can fail without warning at speed, so don't drive on it, especially not out onto the Coast Road. Give us a call and we will replace it where the car is parked. Approaching the kerb at a shallow angle and stopping a few inches short saves both wheels and tyres.
