Your Tyre Fitter in North Shields, Wherever You've Stopped
North Shields is squeezed between the river, the coast and the A19, which runs along the western edge of town towards the Tyne Tunnel. The A1058 Coast Road brings traffic in from Newcastle, and a lot of local driving is short hops between Preston, Chirton and the town centre. Short hops still pick up nails and kerb damage, though.
Wherever it happens, a mobile fitter can come out to you. We cover the town 24 hours a day, every day, and change or repair tyres at homes, workplaces and car parks. In most cases we aim to get to you within 60 minutes, but that depends on your location and the traffic at the time.
It is a practical choice if you live in one of the older streets close to the river, where parking is tight and moving a car on a flat tyre is the last thing you want to do. It suits people who work shifts, too: a tyre found flat at the end of a late finish can be changed there and then, rather than waiting until a garage opens in the morning.
How It Works on the North Bank
Calling us takes a couple of minutes. We ask where the car is and what you can see, then send the closest available fitter from our network of more than 100 across England and Wales. The fitter arrives with suitable tyres on the van and does the job on the spot.
Balancing is included, and so is taking away your old tyre. New tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee, and you can pay by bank transfer, card or cash. There are no hidden fees. If a repair is the safe and sensible option, the fitter will say so rather than sell you a new tyre.
Fitting, Repairs, Vans and Recovery
- Mobile tyre fitting for cars parked on the terraced streets near the town centre, on driveways in Preston or at Royal Quays, with a choice of tyre brands at different price points.
- Puncture repair when the hole is small and in the central tread; otherwise a replacement tyre fitted on the same visit.
- Van tyre fitting for the vans and light commercials working around the riverside, the Fish Quay and the estates either side of the Coast Road.
- Breakdown recovery when a wheel is damaged beyond a roadside fix or the car can't safely stay where it is.
Covering North Shields and North Tyneside
Our fitters work across the town centre, Tynemouth, Preston, Chirton, Percy Main, Billy Mill, Royal Quays and the streets near the Fish Quay. They also attend the A19, the A1058 Coast Road and the A193, and Wallsend just over the A19.
Up the coast, Whitley Bay is a short drive away. We also cover Newcastle upon Tyne to the west and South Shields on the far bank.
Warning Light Near the Tunnel? Stop Before, Not Inside
Many North Shields trips go through the Tyne Tunnel on the A19, and a tunnel is one of the worst places for a tyre to give up. There is little room to pull over and not much space to work.
If your tyre pressure warning light comes on, or the steering suddenly feels heavy or pulls to one side as you approach, leave the main road and stop somewhere safe before you reach the tunnel rather than pushing on. Once inside, keep going steadily if the car is still driveable and follow the tunnel's instructions. Better still, check pressures before a long trip south, so a slow leak is caught on the drive at home.
