Tyres Sorted on Both Banks of the Wear
Sunderland splits neatly in two around the river. North of the Wear you have Monkwearmouth, Southwick, Fulwell and the coast at Roker and Seaburn; to the south sit the city centre, Hendon, Millfield, Pallion and Grangetown. Getting between them usually means a bridge, and a puncture tends to turn up at the worst point of the trip. Rather than limping across the river to find a garage, you can ring us and have a fitter come out to wherever the car has stopped.
Plenty of local driving happens on the bigger roads as well. The A19 runs down the western side of the city, the A1231 carries traffic in from Washington, and the A690 heads out towards Durham. Our fitters work on all of them, around the clock, and we aim to have someone with you within 60 minutes in most cases, traffic permitting.
It doesn't matter whether the problem is a total flat, a warning light on the dashboard or a tyre you've simply noticed is worn to the legal limit. If you can tell us where the car is, a fitter can get to it, and you can stay at home, at work or in the car while the job gets done.
Why Sunderland Drivers Call a Mobile Fitter
A flat on a terraced street in Hendon, a sidewall split on a seafront kerb at Seaburn, a tyre that keeps going soft on the drive in Fulwell: none of these need a trip to a tyre centre. A van brings the tyre and the kit to you.
- Nearest fitter, not a long drive. Jobs go to whoever is closest from a network of more than 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales.
- Extras that cost nothing. Wheel balancing is free, and so is taking your old tyre away for disposal.
- Proper guarantees. Every new tyre comes with the manufacturer's guarantee.
- Simple payment. Card, cash or bank transfer once the job is done, with no hidden fees.
What We Can Do in Sunderland
- Mobile tyre fitting: budget, mid-range or premium tyres put on at your house, your workplace or a car park in the city centre.
- Puncture repair: a nail picked up near the docks or on a building site can often be plugged safely, provided it sits in the central part of the tread and is under 6 mm.
- Van tyres: for couriers and trades vans working the industrial estates along the river, fitted where the van is parked.
- Breakdown recovery: when a cracked wheel or a car stranded on a busy dual carriageway means it has to be moved first.
Seaburn to Grangetown, and the Roads Between
We send fitters to Roker, Seaburn, Fulwell, Monkwearmouth, Southwick, Hylton, Hendon, Millfield, Pallion and Grangetown, and up the coast road towards Whitburn. On the main routes we cover the A19, A1231, A690 and A183, plus the A1018 through Hendon.
Outside the city, the same fitters reach Washington, South Shields, Chester-le-Street and Durham.
Know Where Your Locking Wheel Nut Key Is
One thing slows down more roadside jobs than anything else: a missing locking wheel nut key. Most modern cars have one locking nut per wheel, and without the matching key the wheel can't come off, however good the fitter's tools are.
Spend two minutes this week finding yours. It is usually in the glovebox, the boot floor or a door pocket. Keep it in the same place every time, and tell anyone else who drives the car where it lives. If it has gone missing, mention that when you call so we know before we set off. While you're there, have a quick look at the spare or the inflation kit too, so you know what the car actually carries.
Call Us From Anywhere in Sunderland
Ring 07989 606060 at any hour, or send a WhatsApp message or use the contact form. It helps to have three things to hand: where the car is (a street name, postcode or nearby landmark), the registration, and the tyre size from the sidewall.
