Tyres Fitted Across Washington's Villages
Washington was planned as a new town split into separate residential villages, and its road network reflects that. Dual carriageways such as the A1231, A182 and A195 link the villages together, the A194(M) heads north from junction 65 of the A1(M), and the A19 is only a short hop to the east. It is a place built for driving, and most people here depend on the car.
Getting between villages usually means a run along a fast distributor road and a few junctions rather than a stroll through side streets. A tyre that starts losing air on one of those roads needs dealing with promptly, and pulling into the nearest safe spot and calling us is far better than pressing on to a garage on the far side of town.
That makes a flat tyre particularly disruptive. Rather than juggling lifts while the car sits at a garage, you can have a mobile fitter come out to you in Usworth, Albany, Columbia or wherever you have stopped. We are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we aim to be with you within 60 minutes in most cases, depending on traffic and location.
The Call-Out, Step by Step
- First, the details. We'll ask which village or road you are on and what has happened to the tyre. The size from the sidewall saves time.
- Next, the fitter. The job goes to whoever is closest from our 100-plus mobile fitters covering England and Wales.
- Then, the work. Your tyre is repaired or replaced where the car is, with free wheel balancing and free removal of the old one.
- Finally, payment. Cash, card or bank transfer, with no hidden fees. New tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee.
Tyre Help for Homes, Workplaces and Vans
Mobile tyre fitting works well here because so many homes have a driveway or a parking bay close by. We fit premium, mid-range and budget tyres at home or in your workplace car park, so you don't lose an afternoon.
With mobile puncture repair, we check whether the damage is in the safe, repairable part of the tread before doing anything. If it isn't, a new tyre goes on during the same visit.
Washington's business and industrial areas keep a lot of vans and light commercials on the move, and our van tyre fitting gets them back to work quickly. For damaged wheels or unsafe locations, use our breakdown recovery.
Villages, Junctions and Neighbouring Towns
Our fitters cover Concord, Usworth, Sulgrave, Albany, Glebe, Donwell, Barmston, Biddick, Columbia, Blackfell, Oxclose, Ayton, Lambton and Washington Village. On the main roads, we attend the A1(M), A194(M), A1231, A182, A195 and A19.
Beyond the town, we also cover Sunderland to the east, Chester-le-Street to the south-west and Gateshead to the north, with Birtley close by.
Does Your Car Have a Spare, or Just a Sealant Kit?
A lot of newer cars no longer carry a spare wheel. Under the boot floor there is often just a small compressor and a bottle of tyre sealant. Many drivers only find this out at the roadside.
Sealant can get you home after a small tread puncture, but it won't help with a sidewall cut or a large hole, and the bottle has a use-by date that is easy to miss. It can also make a later repair harder. Check what your car has today, and if the sealant is out of date, replace it. If you would rather not deal with it at all, leave the tyre as it is and call us: the fitter will look at it before deciding on a repair or a new tyre.
