Tyres Sorted Where You Are in Newcastle
Driving in Newcastle upon Tyne means a mix of very different roads in one trip. You might start on a terraced street in Heaton, cut across the Central Motorway, and finish on the A1 Western Bypass heading south towards the Tyne crossings. A flat can turn up on any of them, and getting a car with a punctured tyre to a garage across the city is rarely easy.
So we bring the garage to the car. A mobile fitter drives out to wherever you have stopped, whether that is a residents' bay in Jesmond, a supermarket car park in Fenham or the hard shoulder of a dual carriageway, and changes or repairs the tyre there. We work around the clock, every day of the year, and we aim to have someone with you within 60 minutes in most cases, though city traffic and the time of day do make a difference.
From Phone Call to Fitted Tyre
A call-out in the city follows a simple pattern. You ring us, tell us where the car is and roughly what has happened, and we pass the job to the closest free fitter in our network of more than 100 mobile technicians covering England and Wales.
- The right tyre on board: read us the size from the sidewall and the fitter arrives with a matching premium, mid-range or budget option.
- Balancing and disposal included: every fitting comes with free wheel balancing, and the old tyre leaves with the fitter at no charge.
- A proper guarantee: new tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee.
- Easy payment: cash, card or bank transfer once the job is finished, with no hidden extras added afterwards.
What We Can Do for City Drivers
Mobile tyre fitting is the job we do most. Students' hatchbacks parked up in Jesmond, family cars on driveways in Gosforth and company cars outside offices near the quayside all get the same service, with the new tyre fitted where the car sits.
With puncture repair, the fitter checks where the damage is first. A nail in the middle of the tread can often be plugged and patched safely; a hole near the shoulder or a torn sidewall means a replacement, and we can do that there and then.
Couriers and trades vans spend all day on Newcastle streets, so our van tyre service is built around keeping you working, at a site, a yard or the kerbside. If a wheel is badly damaged or the vehicle is stuck somewhere unsafe, breakdown recovery can move it.
Across the City and Out to the Edges
We cover the whole of the city: Jesmond, Gosforth, Heaton, Byker, Walker, Fenham, Benwell, Fawdon, Denton Burn and Newburn, plus the city centre itself. Fitters regularly work along the A1 Western Bypass, the A167(M) Central Motorway, the A1058 Coast Road, the A186 and the A69 heading west.
Over the river we reach Gateshead in a few minutes, and to the north and east we also cover Cramlington, North Shields and Whitley Bay.
Know Where Your Locking Wheel Nut Key Is
Plenty of cars in the city have locking wheel nuts, one per wheel, that need a special adaptor to undo. It usually lives in the glovebox, the boot well or a door pocket, and it is easy to lose track of after a service or a valet. Without it, changing a tyre takes much longer.
Take a minute now to find yours and put it somewhere you will remember. If you have bought a car second-hand, check it came with the key and that the code card is there too. When you call us about a flat, mention whether you have the key, so the fitter knows what to expect before setting off.
