Blyth Tyres Changed Without the Trip to a Garage
Blyth sits on the Northumberland coast at the mouth of its own river, around 13 miles north-east of Newcastle. The A189 Spine Road carries most traffic in and out, linking the town with Cramlington and Tyneside to the south and Ashington to the north, while the A193 runs down the coast through Seaton Sluice towards Whitley Bay.
Wherever you are when a tyre goes, we can send a mobile fitter. That might be a house in Newsham, a street off the town centre, the car park by the beach, or a lay-by on the Spine Road. We work at any time of day or night, all year round, and in most cases we aim to arrive within 60 minutes, depending on distance and traffic.
A Fitter at Your Door: What's Involved
There is nothing complicated about it. You get in touch, we ask a few questions and send the closest fitter we have from over 100 mobile technicians working across England and Wales. They arrive with the tyre, do the work, and leave you ready to drive.
Included with every fitting:
- wheel balancing, free of charge;
- removal and responsible disposal of the old tyre, also free;
- the manufacturer's guarantee on new tyres.
Payment is taken by card, cash or bank transfer when the work is finished, with nothing hidden in the bill.
Services for Blyth Drivers and Businesses
A mobile tyre fitting visit can replace one tyre or all four, with budget, mid-range and premium choices for most cars. It is done on your drive or wherever the car is parked.
Our puncture repair service is for small holes in the central tread. If the damage is near the edge, in the sidewall, or too big, the fitter swaps in a new tyre instead.
Blyth's port and the businesses around it keep vans busy, so our van tyre fitting comes to your yard or job. When a wheel is too damaged for a roadside fix, our breakdown recovery service takes over.
Blyth, Bebside and Up and Down the Coast
We cover Blyth town centre, Cowpen, Newsham, Isabella and Bebside, with Cambois across the river and Seaton Sluice to the south. On the main routes we attend the A189 Spine Road and the A193.
Being on the coast, Blyth gets its share of wind and rain, and nobody wants to stand on an exposed street wrestling with a jack. Our fitters are used to working in all weathers, so you can wait in the car or indoors while the tyre is changed.
Close neighbours on our list include Cramlington, Ashington and Whitley Bay, plus Bedlington just inland.
Uneven Wear: Check the Inside Edges
Tyres don't always wear evenly. If the wheel alignment has been knocked out, perhaps by a pothole or by mounting a kerb, one edge of the tread can wear away much faster than the rest. Often it is the inner edge, which you can't see easily with the car parked normally.
Every so often, turn the steering wheel to full lock and look across the full width of each front tyre, inside edge included. If one shoulder is noticeably smoother than the other, or the steering wheel sits off-centre when you drive in a straight line, get the alignment checked. Fitting new tyres without fixing the cause just means they wear out early too. Uneven wear can also leave a tyre below the legal 1.6mm on one side while the middle still looks fine.
