A Mobile Tyre Service for Cheltenham's Roads
Driving in Cheltenham is a game of two halves. On one side you have Regency terraces, crescents and squares where parking is tight and cars spend a lot of time nudging up against kerbs. On the other, you have the routes out of town: the A40 west to junction 11 of the M5 or east towards Oxford, the A435 north past Bishop's Cleeve, and the climbs up Leckhampton Hill and the B4632 onto the Cotswold escarpment.
Whichever of those you were on when a tyre gave up, we can come to you. A mobile fitter brings a replacement tyre and all the kit, so you can stay at home, at work or wherever you've safely stopped. We run day and night, all week, and we aim to have a fitter with you within 60 minutes in most cases, depending on location and traffic.
Why Book a Fitter Rather Than Visit a Garage
Driving to a tyre centre on a flat isn't an option, and a space-saver spare isn't something you want to rely on up the hill or on the M5. Calling us out means:
- No waiting room. The fitter works on the car while you get on with your day.
- Someone close by. Our network runs to over 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, with decades of tyre experience between them.
- The extras already covered. Wheel balancing and responsible disposal of your old tyre cost nothing extra.
- Clear prices. Quotes depend on size, brand and time of day, and come with no hidden fees. Pay by card, cash or transfer.
Tyre Work We Carry Out in Cheltenham
- Mobile tyre fitting: new tyres for cars, vans and light commercials, fitted outside your house in Charlton Kings or in the car park at work.
- Puncture repair: where the hole is small and in the main part of the tread, we repair it to British Standard guidance. If not, we replace the tyre there and then.
- Van tyres: for trades and delivery vans running between Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury every day.
- Breakdown recovery: when a wheel is damaged beyond a tyre change, or the car is stuck somewhere unsafe to work.
Where Our Cheltenham Fitters Go
Our coverage takes in the town centre and its neighbourhoods, among them Prestbury, Charlton Kings, Leckhampton and Up Hatherley, plus Bishop's Cleeve to the north. We also attend on the M5 at junctions 10 and 11, the A40, the A46 and the A435. On race days, when the roads near the racecourse fill up, it helps to give us an exact spot so the fitter can plan a way in.
Gloucester and Tewkesbury are within easy reach, and further out we cover Worcester and Swindon as well.
Slow Leak but No Nail? Check the Valve
A tyre that needs topping up every week or two doesn't always have something stuck in it. On older cars and on wheels that have been through a few sets of tyres, the rubber valve can perish and crack, and air escapes there instead. It's an easy one to miss because the tread looks perfect.
To check, take the cap off and dab a little soapy water around the valve. Bubbles mean it's leaking. Also make sure every valve has its cap on, because grit and water getting in can stop the valve sealing properly.
The fix is simple: a new valve fitted when the tyre is off the rim. If you are having new tyres fitted, it's worth asking for fresh valves at the same time. And if the soapy water shows nothing, the leak may be at the rim or from a tiny puncture, so get the tyre looked at rather than carrying on topping it up.
