Mobile Tyre Fitting in Northampton

Northampton sits right beside the M1, with junctions 15, 15A and 16 all within a few minutes of town. The A45 Nene Valley Way runs along the river towards Wellingborough, and the A43 heads north past Moulton towards Kettering. Plenty of the traffic is commercial, with vans and lorries working out of the distribution parks on the edge of town, mixed in with everyday commuters, shoppers and school traffic in the suburbs.

When a tyre fails, whether on a delivery round or the drive to work, we can get a mobile fitter to you with the right tyre and do the work on the spot. There is no need to find a garage with space or wait around in a reception. We take calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and aim to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases, traffic permitting.

1. Get in touch and give us the details. Location, vehicle type and the tyre size. For vans, the load index on the sidewall helps too.
2. We dispatch the closest fitter. Our network of more than 100 seasoned fitters across England and Wales means someone is usually close to Northampton.
3. Repair or replacement, where you are. The fitter balances the wheel and takes the old tyre away free of charge. New tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee.

Pay by card, cash or bank transfer. The cost depends on the tyre and the job, and there are no hidden fees.

• Mobile tyre fitting: tyres for family cars, fitted on your drive in Duston or Abington or in the car park at work.
• Puncture repair: if the hole is in the centre of the tread and not too big, we repair it properly from the inside instead of replacing the tyre.
• Van tyres: a big part of what we do here. Delivery vans and light commercials based around Brackmills and the other business parks can be fitted in the yard between runs.
• Breakdown recovery: for a car or van stranded on the M1 or a dual carriageway where roadside work is not safe.

We cover the town centre and areas such as Kingsthorpe, Abington, Duston, Weston Favell, East Hunsbury, West Hunsbury, Far Cotton, Wootton, Grange Park and Hardingstone, along with Moulton to the north. Our fitters work on the M1 around junctions 15 to 16, the A45, the A43 and the A5123. If you are stopped at the motorway services or in a lay-by on one of these roads, tell us which direction you were heading.

Other towns we cover with their own pages include Milton Keynes, Brackley and, further up the M1, Leicester.

Van tyres are built to carry more weight than car tyres, and each one is marked with a load index and often a "C" after the size. Fitting a tyre with too low a rating, or running a fully loaded van at unladen pressures, makes the sidewalls flex and heat up, which wears them quickly and can lead to a blowout on a long motorway run.

Check the load index on your current tyres and make sure any replacement matches or exceeds it. Look in the handbook or on the door pillar for the laden pressure figures and use them when the van is full. If your loads change a lot from day to day, a quick pressure check each morning before you leave the yard takes a minute and can save a day off the road.
