A Tyre Fitter That Comes to Camden Town
Most cars in Camden Town live on the street. They sit in residents' bays off Camden Road, squeeze into spaces near the Regent's Canal, or wait in a block's underground car park between trips. When one of them gets a flat, the last thing you want is to limp it along Camden High Street looking for a garage. Our fitters come to the car instead, bring the tyre with them and do the work on the spot.
We run around the clock, every day of the year. In most cases we aim to reach you within 60 minutes, although the A400 and the roads around Britannia Junction can slow any vehicle down at busy times, so we'll give you an honest estimate when you ring.
Why Camden Drivers Skip the Garage
Driving a car on a flat tyre through stop-start traffic usually wrecks the tyre and can damage the wheel. Waiting for a garage slot means leaving the car where it is, possibly on a single yellow line. A mobile fitter avoids both problems. Here is what you get:
- The nearest available fitter. We have more than 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, so your job goes to someone already working in north London.
- The work done at the kerb or in the car park. Wheel balancing and taking your old tyre away cost nothing extra.
- Clear payment. Card, cash or bank transfer once the job is finished, with no hidden fees added on.
What We Can Do in NW1 and Around
- Mobile tyre fitting: budget, mid-range or premium tyres fitted outside your flat, at your workplace or in a residents' garage. New tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee.
- Puncture repair: a nail picked up near a building site can often be plugged, provided it sits in the central three-quarters of the tread and is under 6 mm. Anything outside that, we replace.
- Van tyres: for couriers, market traders and tradespeople who need the van back on the road before the next delivery.
- Breakdown recovery: if a wheel is cracked or the car can't be worked on safely where it stopped, we can move it.
Chalk Farm, Kentish Town, Primrose Hill and Beyond
Our cover takes in the whole of Camden Town and the neighbourhoods around it: Chalk Farm to the north, Primrose Hill and Belsize Park, Kentish Town and Tufnell Park along the A400, Mornington Crescent, Somers Town and the streets towards St Pancras. We also reach cars on Camden Road (the A503) heading east towards Holloway.
Camden is part of our wider London service, so we can also send fitters next door to Islington, further out to Hendon, or across to Hackney.
Cars That Sit for Weeks Need Their Tyres Checked
If you mostly walk or take the Tube and only use the car at weekends or for the odd trip out of town, check the tyres more often than you might think. Tyres on a car that rarely moves lose pressure slowly, and the rubber can dry out and crack along the sidewall, especially on a car parked in full sun.
Before a longer drive, walk round the car and look closely. Fine cracks in the sidewall, a tyre that looks squashed compared with the others, or a bulge are all reasons to stop and get it checked. Pump the tyres up to the pressures on the door-pillar sticker, and if one has gone soft again a day or two later, assume it has a slow puncture. The four-digit date code on the sidewall tells you when the tyre was made; older tyres deserve a closer look even if the tread still seems deep.
Ring Us From Anywhere in Camden
Call 07989 606060 at any hour, or message us on WhatsApp or through the contact form. It helps if you can tell us the street or car park, whether the car is in a permit bay or underground, the registration, and the tyre size from the sidewall (something like 205/55 R16).
