Hendon, Brent Cross and the Roads Heading North
Hendon is crossed by some of the most important roads in north-west London. The A41, known locally as Hendon Way and Watford Way, runs straight through it and passes over the North Circular on the Brent Cross Flyover. The A1 cuts across too, and just to the west, at Staples Corner, the M1 begins its run north alongside the A5 Edgware Road. For a lot of Hendon residents, getting anywhere means joining one of these within a few minutes of leaving home.
Heavy traffic and fast roads are hard on tyres, but so are the quieter residential streets around Hendon Central, Church End and West Hendon, where cars sit parked for days and slow leaks go unnoticed. Wherever your tyre gives trouble, a mobile fitter can come to the car instead of you having to get the car to a garage.
We are available 24/7, and we aim to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases. Traffic around Brent Cross and the North Circular can affect that, and we'll give you an honest idea of timing when you call.
From Your Call to a Fitted Tyre
- Describe the problem. Tell us where the car is, what you can see and, ideally, the tyre size moulded into the sidewall.
- A nearby fitter is assigned. With a network of more than 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, the job goes to whoever is closest and free.
- Repair or replace at the roadside. If the puncture can be repaired safely, it will be. If not, a new tyre is fitted and balanced, and the old one is taken away, with no charge for either.
New tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee. You pay by card, cash or bank transfer, with no hidden fees on top.
If the tyre went on the Watford Way or the North Circular, don't try to change it on the carriageway. Pull into a side road, a lay-by or a car park if you can do so slowly and safely, then ring us from there. A tyre change is far quicker and safer once the car is away from passing traffic.

Do You Know If Your Car Has a Spare?
Many newer cars leave the factory without a spare wheel. Instead, there's a small compressor and a bottle of sealant under the boot floor, or the car runs on run-flat tyres. A lot of drivers only find this out when they lift the boot floor at the side of the road.
Before your next long run up the M1, take a minute to check what your car actually carries. If it's a space-saver, make sure it's inflated and remember it's only meant for short distances at reduced speed. If it's a sealant kit, read the instructions now rather than in the dark: sealant can get you moving after a small tread puncture, but it won't help with a sidewall cut or a blowout, and some sealants make a later repair harder. Either way, knowing what you've got tells you whether to drive on gently or stay put and call for a fitter.
