Punctures and New Tyres, Fitted in Islington
Islington is a district of terraced streets and garden squares, cut through by the A1 as it runs up Upper Street and on along Holloway Road. Drivers here spend a lot of time in slow traffic and even more time hunting for a parking space, so a flat tyre tends to be found at the kerb outside home, not on an open road.
That suits a mobile service. You stay put, and a fitter drives to you with the right tyre and the kit to change it. We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and aim to be with you within 60 minutes in most cases, depending on where you are and how heavy the traffic is.
Kerbs are a common culprit here. Tight parallel parking on narrow residential roads means alloys and sidewalls get scraped, and a scuffed sidewall can hide a cut that lets air out over a few days.
How a Call-Out Runs, Start to Finish
- You call or message with the details. Where the car is, what has happened to the tyre and, ideally, the size from the sidewall.
- A fitter close by takes the job. With a network of over 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, there is usually one already working in north London.
- The tyre is repaired or swapped where you are. Balancing is free, and so is disposal of the old tyre.
- You pay when it's done. Card, cash or bank transfer, with no hidden fees.
Car and Van Tyre Work in N1, N5 and N7
- Mobile tyre fitting: a full range from budget to premium, fitted on your street in Canonbury or in an estate car park in Holloway. Every new tyre carries the manufacturer's guarantee.
- Puncture repair: if the hole is small and in the middle part of the tread, we repair it. If it's in the shoulder or sidewall, a repair isn't safe and we'll fit a replacement there and then.
- Van tyres: light commercial tyres for builders and delivery drivers working the side streets off Essex Road and Liverpool Road.
- Breakdown recovery: when the problem is more than a tyre, or the car is stuck somewhere it can't stay.
From the Angel to Holloway: Where We Go
We cover the Angel and Islington High Street, Upper Street, Essex Road and Liverpool Road, Canonbury, Highbury and the streets around Highbury Fields, Barnsbury, and Holloway along the A1. Cars on City Road and Southgate Road, at the district's south-eastern edge, are covered too.
Islington sits within our London coverage. Our fitters work just as often in neighbouring Camden and Hackney, and further north towards Wood Green.
Behind a Road Filter? Tell Us the Way In
Several Islington neighbourhoods have low-traffic schemes, with planters or bollards closing streets to through traffic, and some roads near schools close at drop-off and pick-up times. Sat-navs don't always keep up, and a fitter can lose time driving round a block only to meet a closed end.
When you call, tell us which end of your street is open to vehicles, and whether there's a school street closure nearby. If the car is in a gated estate car park, mention the gate code or say you'll meet the fitter at the entrance. Two minutes of directions on the phone can save a lot more than that on the road. And if your tyre has gone soft but not flat, don't try to drive it out to a main road for us: a short trip on low pressure can ruin a tyre that was repairable.
