Mobile Tyre Help on Wigan's Roads
Wigan sits right beside the M6, and that shapes how people here drive. Junction 25 feeds the A49 Wigan Road up into the town, while junction 26 at Orrell meets the M58 heading out towards Skelmersdale. Add the A577 running through Hindley, Pemberton and on to Orrell, and you have a lot of miles covered every day on a small set of busy roads.
When a tyre lets you down on any of them, we send a fitter to the car. That could be a lay-by, a supermarket car park, the street outside your house in Standish or your yard at work. The service runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and our aim is to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases, though traffic on the motorway can change that.
How a Wigan Call-Out Runs
- You get in touch. A quick call or WhatsApp with the location, the problem and, ideally, the tyre size is all we need to start.
- A fitter nearby is assigned. Our network covers England and Wales with over 100 mobile fitters, which means the person sent to you is normally already working in the Wigan area.
- The job is done on site. Repair or replacement, plus wheel balancing and removal of the old tyre, both free. New tyres are covered by the manufacturer's guarantee.
Card, cash and bank transfer are all accepted afterwards, and the price you are quoted is the price you pay.
Our Services Around Wigan
- Mobile tyre fitting: a full choice of premium, mid-range and economy tyres, brought out and fitted wherever the car is parked.
- Tyre repair: small tread punctures from screws and nails picked up on the A49 or the A577 are often repairable to British Standard guidance; sidewall cuts are not, and we'll swap the tyre if needed.
- Van tyre fitting: commercial tyres for vans running between Wigan and the M6 and M58 corridors, done at your site so the van is back on the road quickly.
- Breakdown recovery: used when a wheel is damaged beyond a tyre swap or the car is in a spot where working on it isn't safe.
Wigan Districts, Junctions and Neighbouring Towns
Within the borough our fitters go out to the town centre, Pemberton, Orrell, Winstanley, Standish, Ince-in-Makerfield, Hindley, Abram and Ashton-in-Makerfield. On the road network that means the M6 at junctions 25 and 26, the M58, the A49, the A577 and the A58.
If you're unsure exactly where you are on the motorway, the marker posts along the hard shoulder and the last junction you passed are enough for us to work with.
Beyond Wigan we also cover Bolton, St Helens, Warrington further down the M6 and Chorley to the north.
Loaded Up for the M6? Adjust Your Pressures
With the M6 on the doorstep, plenty of Wigan families head off for a week away with a full boot, a roof box or a bike rack. Extra weight changes what your tyres need. Most cars list two sets of pressures inside the fuel flap or on the driver's door pillar: one for normal use and a higher figure for a full load.
Pump the tyres up to the loaded figure before you set off, with them cold, and drop them back afterwards. Running a heavy car at everyday pressures makes the sidewalls flex and heat up on long motorway stretches, which is exactly when a weak tyre gives way. While you're kneeling there, look for bulges or cuts on each sidewall too.
