Mobile Tyre Fitters Between the East Lancs Road and the M62
St Helens sits between two big roads. The A580 East Lancashire Road skirts the north of the town and meets the M6 at junction 23 by Haydock, while the M62 passes to the south, with junction 7 at Rainhill Stoops. Linking them, the A570 runs as a dual carriageway right through the centre. Add the A58 and you have most of the routes local drivers use every day, whether they're commuting towards Liverpool, Manchester or Wigan.
If a tyre lets you down anywhere on that network, or simply on your street in Sutton or Windle, we come to you. A mobile fitter brings the tyre and does the work by the car, so there's no need to find a garage with space. We're available 24 hours a day, every day, and aim to get to you within 60 minutes in most cases, depending on traffic and where you are.
Plenty of the calls we get are not emergencies at all. You might have been told at an MOT that two tyres are close to the limit, or noticed the tread wearing down on a car you use for the school run. In that case we can book a time that suits you and fit the new tyres at home or at work while you get on with your day.

Tread Depth: The 20p Test Takes Seconds
The legal minimum tread depth for a car in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, all the way round. Below that, you risk a fine and penalty points per tyre, but the bigger problem is grip. On a wet dual carriageway such as the East Lancs Road, worn tyres take noticeably longer to stop and are more likely to aquaplane through standing water.
A quick check: put a 20p coin into the main tread grooves. If you can see the outer band of the coin, the tread may be close to the limit and it's time for a proper look. Most tyres also have small raised wear bars across the grooves; when the tread is level with them, the tyre needs replacing. Check in a few places around each tyre, because uneven wear on one edge is common and easy to miss.
