A Mobile Tyre Service on the North Bank of the Mersey

Widnes faces Runcorn across the river, and a large share of local driving involves one of the two crossings: the Mersey Gateway toll bridge or the older Silver Jubilee Bridge on the A533. Northbound, most people reach the motorway network at junction 7 of the M62, using Watkinson Way (the A568) to get there. Others pick up the A562, which runs through the town on its way between Liverpool and Warrington.

When a tyre goes flat on any of those roads, or overnight outside your house in Hough Green, you don't have to sort it yourself. A mobile fitter comes to the car, carrying the tyre you need, and changes or repairs it there. We work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and in most cases we aim to be with you within an hour, depending on where in Widnes you are and how the traffic is moving.

A flat that happens on a bridge approach or a dual carriageway is a different matter from one on a quiet cul-de-sac. If you are on a fast road, pull off at the first safe place, put the hazard lights on and wait somewhere away from the traffic. Tell us exactly where you stopped, and we will work out the safest place to do the job, which may mean moving the car a short way first.

From Phone Call to Fitted Tyre

  1. Give us a quick description. Where the car is, which tyre is damaged and, ideally, the size from the sidewall, such as 205/55 R16.
  2. We pick the fitter nearest to you. Our network runs to more than 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, with many years of tyre work behind them.
  3. Repair or replacement happens beside the car. Balancing is free, the old tyre is taken away at no charge, and any new tyre carries the manufacturer's guarantee.

Card, cash or a bank transfer are all fine. You won't find extra charges tacked on at the end.

Tyre Work We Carry Out in Widnes

  • Mobile tyre fitting: budget, mid-range and premium tyres, fitted on your drive in Upton or Farnworth, or in the car park at work.
  • Puncture repair: small punctures in the main part of the tread are repaired to British Standard guidance; anything outside that gets a new tyre instead.
  • Van tyres: Widnes has plenty of industrial and trade traffic, and we keep vans and light commercials moving by fitting their tyres on site.
  • Breakdown recovery: when the problem goes beyond the tyre, or the car can't stay where it has stopped.

Widnes Estates, Villages and Roads

Our fitters cover all of Widnes, including Ditton, Hough Green, Farnworth, Upton, Appleton and West Bank, plus Halebank and the village of Hale to the south-west and Cronton to the north. Main routes we work on include the A562, A568, A5080 and A533, and the M62 at Rainhill Stoops.

Across the bridges we cover Runcorn, and we also reach Warrington, St Helens and Liverpool.

Industrial Estates and the Screw in Your Tread

Roads around warehouses, building sites and trade units collect screws, nails and bits of metal swept out of vans and skips. Drive over one and it often stays lodged in the tread, sealing the hole just enough that the tyre loses air slowly over several days rather than all at once.

If you drive through industrial areas regularly, take a minute each week to walk round the car and look at the tread, turning the steering to see the front tyres properly. If you spot a screw head, leave it in place, since pulling it out usually turns a slow leak into a flat. Check the pressure, and get it looked at soon. A puncture caught early is far more likely to be repairable than one that has been driven on while soft, because running low damages the sidewall from the inside.
