Tyres Sorted on the Wirral Side of the Queensway Tunnel
For many people in Birkenhead, the working day starts with the Queensway Tunnel under the Mersey to Liverpool, or with the M53, which curves round the north-west of the town before running south between Upton, Woodchurch and Prenton. Closer to home, the A41 takes traffic from the tunnel entrance south through Tranmere and Rock Ferry, and the A552 heads west out towards the motorway.
Whichever of those routes you use, a flat tyre doesn't have to mean a trip to a garage. We send a mobile fitter with a suitable tyre to the car, and the job is done there: on a terraced street in Tranmere, a driveway in Oxton or a car park in the town centre. The service runs 24/7, and in most cases we aim to reach you within 60 minutes, subject to traffic and your exact location.
Older streets near the centre can be tight, with cars parked nose to tail on both sides. Our fitters are used to working in that kind of space. If the damaged wheel is right against the kerb or another car, tell us when you call and we'll work out how best to reach it.
Why Birkenhead Drivers Choose a Fitter Who Comes to Them
Changing a wheel on a narrow street with traffic squeezing past isn't easy, and plenty of modern cars don't carry a full spare anyway. A mobile fitter takes the hassle out of it.
- You get in touch by phone, WhatsApp or our contact form.
- We send whichever fitter is nearest. Our network covers England and Wales with more than 100 mobile fitters, so someone is usually not far from the Wirral.
- The tyre is fixed or replaced by your car. You get free balancing and free disposal of the old tyre, and the manufacturer's guarantee on new ones.
We quote before starting, with no hidden fees. Payment can be by card, cash or bank transfer.
Mobile Tyre Services in Birkenhead
- Mobile tyre fitting: premium, mid-range or budget tyres fitted at home in Claughton or Bidston, or at your workplace.
- Puncture repair: small punctures in the centre of the tread are repaired where it's safe to do so; otherwise we fit a replacement there and then.
- Van tyres: vans working around the docks and industrial areas can have tyres fitted on site to keep them on the road.
- Breakdown recovery: when a wheel is damaged beyond a tyre change or the car can't stay where it has stopped.
Birkenhead Suburbs and Roads We Cover
Our fitters cover Birkenhead town centre and its suburbs, including Oxton, Claughton, Prenton, Tranmere, Rock Ferry, Bidston, Noctorum, Upton and Woodchurch. Main routes include the A41, A552 and the M53, and the approach roads to the Queensway Tunnel.
We also cover Wallasey to the north, Ellesmere Port at the southern end of the M53, and Liverpool across the river.
When the Tyre Pressure Warning Light Comes On
Most cars built in the last decade or so have a tyre pressure monitoring system, which lights up an amber symbol on the dashboard when a tyre loses air. It's easy to ignore, particularly if the car still feels normal, but the light is often the first sign of a puncture.
If it comes on while you're driving, slow down and find somewhere safe to stop, then look at each tyre. A tyre that is visibly flat shouldn't be driven on. If they all look fine, check the pressures with a gauge at the next opportunity and compare them with the figures in the door pillar or handbook. Cold weather can trigger the light on its own, but if one tyre keeps losing air after you've topped it up, you probably have a slow puncture that needs attention.
