Rhyl Tyre Trouble, Fixed Where You Park
Rhyl stretches along the coast at the mouth of the River Clwyd, with the A548 coast road running through it and the A525 heading inland to Rhuddlan and St Asaph. Most local trips are short ones between home, the shops and the promenade, and the longer runs usually begin by heading south to pick up the A55 expressway.
Short trips have their own tyre problems. A slow puncture can go unnoticed for days when you're only driving a mile or two, and it often shows itself on a cold morning as a flat outside the house. That's exactly where our fitters prefer to work: right beside your car, with no need to drive anywhere on a deflated tyre.
We operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and in most cases aim to reach you within an hour, traffic and location permitting.
How a Call-Out Works on the Coast
Ring us, tell us what's happened and where the car is, and we pass the job to the nearest available member of our network. There are more than 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, and each brings years of experience at the roadside.
The fitter turns up with tyres to suit your car, inspects the damage and either repairs it or swaps the tyre. Wheel balancing is included at no charge, so is taking away the old casing, and new tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee. You pay afterwards by card, cash or bank transfer, and you won't find any hidden extras on the bill.
Late at night on the coast road, stay in a safe spot away from passing traffic and keep your phone on: the fitter will ring as they get close so you know when to expect them.
Our Services in and Around Rhyl
- Mobile tyre fitting: new tyres in a range of price bands, put on at your address, in a seafront car park or at work.
- Puncture repair: handy for the classic slow leak from a screw picked up on the way home; if it's repairable, we repair it.
- Commercial and van tyres: for tradespeople and delivery drivers covering the coast between Kinmel Bay and Prestatyn.
- Breakdown recovery: if the wheel is damaged beyond a tyre swap, we can arrange to take the car away.
From Kinmel Bay to Rhuddlan: Our Patch
Our fitters cover the whole town, from the promenade and the streets behind it to the roads leading out towards the A55. Across the Foryd Bridge we reach Kinmel Bay, and inland we go down the A525 to Rhuddlan and St Asaph.
We also handle call-outs along the A548 in both directions and on the A55 nearby. Neighbouring pages you might want: Prestatyn to the east and Colwyn Bay further west along the coast.
Sea Air and Slow Leaks: A Rhyl Tyre Tip
Cars that live near the sea face salt in the air and sand blown off the beach. Over time that can corrode the rim of an alloy wheel where the tyre seals against it, and the result is a stubborn slow leak that has nothing to do with a nail. Valves can perish and leak in the same way.
If one tyre keeps losing a few psi a week and you can't find anything in the tread, mention it when you call. The fitter can break the bead, clean up the seat and reseal it, or replace the valve, which is often all it takes. Washing the wheels now and again, especially in winter when the roads are gritted as well, helps slow the corrosion down.
