Putney Tyre Fitting, Brought to the Car
Most driving in Putney funnels through a couple of roads. The A219 crosses Putney Bridge, runs up the High Street and climbs towards Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common, and the Upper Richmond Road (the A205) cuts across it heading east towards Wandsworth and west towards East Sheen. Both get slow at busy times, and neither is a good place to be with a tyre losing air.
If it happens to you, find a safe spot and give us a call. A mobile fitter will come out and deal with it where the car is, whether that's a side road near East Putney station, a residents' bay off the Lower Richmond Road or a parking space on an estate in Roehampton.
We cover Putney 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our aim is to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases, though it depends on the traffic and on where you're parked.
Parking on a red route or in a bus lane isn't a place to wait. If the tyre is only soft rather than shredded, roll slowly into the nearest side street before calling, and give us that street name. The fitter will then have room to jack the car up and work safely, and you won't be blocking traffic.
Reasons People in Putney Choose a Mobile Fitter
Not many households in SW15 have a driveway, and fewer still want to sit in a waiting room on a Saturday. A mobile service sidesteps both. Each visit comes with:
- The fitter nearest to you, from a network of over 100 across England and Wales with decades of experience.
- Free balancing on every tyre we fit.
- Free disposal of your old tyre, so you're not left with it in the boot.
- The manufacturer's guarantee on new tyres.
- No hidden fees, and payment by card, cash or bank transfer.
Our Putney Tyre Services
- Mobile tyre fitting: tyres in budget, mid-range and premium ranges, fitted outside your home or at work.
- Puncture repair: if the object went into the middle section of the tread and left a small hole, a repair is usually possible.
- Van tyres: for the many vans doing home renovations and deliveries on Putney's residential streets.
- Breakdown recovery: for a car that can't be safely repaired where it is, perhaps with a cracked wheel after a pothole.
East Putney, Roehampton and Putney Vale
We cover the area around the High Street and Putney Bridge, the streets by Putney Lower Common, East Putney between the bridge and Southfields, Putney Heath, Roehampton and Putney Vale. Putney is one of many districts in our London coverage.
Our fitters also reach East Sheen along the A205 and the neighbouring areas of Fulham across the river, Wandsworth, Wimbledon and Richmond.
Found a Screw in the Tread? Leave It In
With so many houses being extended and refitted, builders' screws and nails end up in the road, and from there in your tyres. It's tempting to pull one out as soon as you spot it. Usually that's the wrong move.
While the screw stays in, it often seals the hole well enough for the tyre to hold air for a while. Pull it out and a slow leak can turn into a flat within minutes. Instead, leave it where it is, check the pressure, and avoid long or fast journeys until it's been looked at. Make a note of where it is on the tyre. If it's in the central part of the tread, there's a good chance it can be repaired; if it's near the edge or in the sidewall, the tyre will need replacing.
