Tyre Help on Your Doorstep in Lancaster
Lancaster is a city split by the River Lune, with Skerton on the north bank, the centre and Bowerham to the south, and the M6 running past the east side with junction 33 below the city and junction 34 above it. A lot of everyday driving here means crossing a bridge, queueing on the A6 or heading out along the A683 towards the motorway, and a flat tyre on any of those routes is a nuisance you could do without.
Rather than limping to a workshop, you can have a mobile fitter come to you. We send someone with the right tyre and the kit to fit it, whether the car is outside your house in Ryelands, in a car park near the shops or stuck in a lay-by on the edge of the city. We run day and night, every day of the year, and in most cases we aim to get to you within 60 minutes, though traffic over the river and where exactly you are will make a difference.
How a Lancaster Call-Out Runs
You ring or message us, we find out what has happened to the tyre and where the car is, and the nearest free fitter from our network of over 100 across England and Wales is given the job. Because the fitters are mobile, nobody is waiting for you to turn up at a counter.
- On arrival: the fitter checks the damage and tells you whether a repair is safe or a new tyre is needed.
- Included as standard: wheel balancing and taking your old tyre away cost nothing extra.
- Cover: every new tyre comes with its manufacturer's guarantee.
- Paying: card, cash or bank transfer once the work is finished, with no hidden fees.
What We Can Do for Lancaster Motorists
- Mobile tyre fitting: budget, mid-range or premium tyres put on at your home, your workplace or wherever the car happens to be parked in the city.
- Puncture repair: a nail or screw in the middle of the tread can often be plugged and patched properly, which saves you buying a whole tyre. Damage near the shoulder or wider than 6 mm means a replacement instead.
- Van tyres: for trades and couriers who spend the day going between Lancaster, Morecambe and the villages up the Lune valley.
- Breakdown recovery: available when a bent wheel or other damage means the car shouldn't be driven at all.
Districts, Villages and Roads Around the City
Inside the city our fitters reach Skerton, Scale Hall, Ryelands, Bowerham, Vale and Aldcliffe. Out towards the Lune valley they cover Halton, Caton and Brookhouse. On the road network that means the A6 north and south, the A589 Morecambe Road and the A683 link that runs from Morecambe Road across the river to junction 34, as well as both M6 junctions serving the city.
Many jobs come from people travelling between Lancaster and its neighbours. We also have pages for Morecambe, Preston to the south and Kendal to the north if your journey takes you further.
Clipped a Kerb? Look at the Sidewall Before You Drive On
Squeezing past parked cars on a narrow residential street, or misjudging the edge of a mini roundabout, can leave a tyre with a scuff that looks harmless. The worrying signs are a bulge or blister on the side of the tyre, a cut deep enough to show cords, or a dent in the rim beside it.
A bulge means the internal structure has been damaged and the tyre can fail without warning, particularly once you pick up speed on the M6. Sidewall damage can't be repaired, so the only safe fix is a new tyre. If you spot one, leave the car where it is and ring us rather than driving across the city on it.
