Kendal sits just outside the Lake District, and its roads reflect that. The A591 bypasses the town on the west and carries traffic up to Windermere and Keswick, the A6 runs north to Penrith, the A65 sets off for Kirkby Lonsdale and Skipton, and the A684 comes in from Sedbergh. The M6 is a few miles east, with junctions 36 and 37 the usual ways in.
That mix of local streets, fast A roads and motorway means tyre trouble can strike anywhere, and a lot of it happens to visitors who don't know the area. What Happens Once You've Rung Us

When they arrive, the fitter decides whether the tyre can be repaired or has to be replaced, explains why, and gets on with it. Balancing is free, the old tyre is taken away for free, and any new tyre carries the manufacturer's guarantee. You pay at the end by card, cash or bank transfer, and there are no hidden extras.
If you've broken down on a narrow road with no verge, tell us when you call. The fitter can plan where to park the van and, if the spot really isn't safe to work in, we can arrange for the car to be moved first.

Loaded Up for the Lakes? Adjust Your Pressures
A car packed with luggage, bikes on the back and a full set of passengers is a lot heavier than it is on the school run. Most cars have two sets of pressure figures, one for normal use and a higher one for a full load, printed on a sticker in the door frame or fuel flap and in the handbook.
Running at the lighter setting with a heavy load lets the tyre flex more and heat up, which shows on long climbs and when braking downhill on Lakeland roads. Before setting off on a loaded trip, inflate to the full-load figure while the tyres are cold, and set them back afterwards. It's also a good moment to look over the tread for cuts or stones.
