A City Ringed by Motorways
Few places in the North West are as tied to the motorway as Preston. The M6 bypass runs along its eastern side from junction 29 to 32, the M61 joins at junction 30, and the M55 heads off to the Fylde at junction 32. Inside the city, the A6 carries traffic north and south while the A59 crosses the Ribble and runs out along New Hall Lane. When the M6 backs up, which it regularly does, all of that spills onto the local roads.
That is a lot of miles for tyres to cover, and a lot of places to get a flat. Wherever it happens, our mobile fitters come to you with the tyre, the tools and the balancing kit. We operate 24/7 and in most cases aim to arrive within 60 minutes, subject to location and traffic.
It is not all motorway work. A lot of our Preston jobs are on residential streets in Ribbleton or Ashton, where a driver has come out in the morning to a tyre that went down overnight, or at a workplace where the car has sat all day with a screw in the tread. Being able to leave the car where it is and carry on with your day is the main reason people ring us rather than limping to a tyre bay across town.
What You Get When We Come Out
The process is simple. You call, we find the closest of our 100-plus fitters working across England and Wales, and they head straight to you. Once there, they will tell you honestly whether the tyre can be repaired or needs replacing.
- Wheel balancing included free with every fitting.
- Your old tyre removed and disposed of at no charge.
- The manufacturer's guarantee on every new tyre.
- Payment by card, cash or bank transfer, and no hidden fees.
Tyre Work Across the City
- Mobile tyre fitting: tyres to suit any budget, fitted on your drive in Fulwood, in a city-centre car park, or at an office near the docks.
- Puncture repair: where the hole is small and in the main part of the tread, we repair it. Damage near the shoulder or sidewall means a new tyre, fitted on the spot.
- Van tyres: for couriers and trades using the motorway links out of Preston, where a day off the road hurts.
- Breakdown recovery: when a car can't safely be worked on where it stopped, or the wheel itself has been damaged.
Preston Districts and the Towns Around Them
Fitters cover the city centre and suburbs including Fulwood in the north, Ribbleton in the east and Ashton-on-Ribble to the west. South of the river we work in Penwortham, Walton-le-Dale and Bamber Bridge. We also cover the M6 between junctions 29 and 32, the M55 and M61 approaches, and the A6 and A59.
Neighbouring towns we serve include Leyland, Chorley, Blackburn and Blackpool.
Know Where Your Locking Wheel Nut Key Is
A surprising number of call-outs get held up by one small thing: the key for the locking wheel nuts. Without it, nobody can get the wheel off without specialist tools, and stuck in a queue on the M6 or a side road off the A6 is a bad time to discover it is missing.
Take a minute to find it now. It is usually in the glovebox, the boot floor or a pocket by the spare. Keep it in the same place every time, and tell anyone else who drives the car. While you are looking, check whether the car has a spare at all: many newer models carry only an inflation kit, which will not help with a cut sidewall. Telling us when you call means the fitter comes prepared.
