Mobile Tyre Fitting in Eastbourne

Eastbourne is at the end of the line for two major roads. The A22 runs all the way down from London and finishes in the town, and the A259 follows the coast, coming over from Beachy Head in the west and leaving towards Pevensey in the east. The A2270 links the centre with Willingdon and Polegate and on to the A27. Between them are long seafront roads, quiet residential avenues and newer estates out towards the harbour.

Weather blows in off the Channel, and wet roads are where worn tyres show their weakness. The legal minimum tread in the UK is 1.6 mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, but grip in the wet starts dropping well before that, and stopping distances grow with it.

A quick check: push a 20p coin into the main grooves. If the outer band of the coin disappears, there is still a reasonable amount of tread. If you can see the band, the tyre is getting close to the limit and is worth replacing soon. Check in a few places on each tyre, because uneven wear can leave one edge much balder than the rest.
