Cold Mornings and Tyre Pressures
Air contracts as it cools, so tyre pressures drop on a cold night, roughly one psi for every few degrees. A tyre that was borderline in October can be noticeably soft on the first frosty morning, and some cars will show a pressure warning as a result.
As winter arrives, check your pressures more often, ideally first thing before the car has been driven. If they've dropped, top them up to the handbook figure. Should the warning keep returning after that, a slow puncture is the likelier cause. If you regularly drive on rural roads through the colder months, it may also be worth asking about all-season tyres, which keep more of their grip in low temperatures.
