Caernarfon's Roads and the Fitters Who Cover Them
Caernarfon sits on the Menai Strait, looking across the water to Anglesey, with roads fanning out inland from the town. Since February 2022 the A487 Caernarfon and Bontnewydd bypass has carried through traffic around the east side of town, between the Plas Menai roundabout near Y Felinheli and the Goat roundabout near Llanwnda. The A4086 heads towards Llanberis, the A4085 to Waunfawr, and the A499 runs south down the coast.
That gives you a mix of fast new dual carriageway and much slower country roads, and tyres get damaged on both. Our mobile fitters drive out to wherever you've stopped, with a replacement tyre and the tools to fit it, so you aren't left looking for a garage that's open.
We take calls 24 hours a day, every day. Our aim is to reach most customers within 60 minutes, but rural locations and traffic can affect that.
A Straightforward Call-Out, Start to Finish
- Call or message us. Say what's happened to the tyre and where you are, whether that's a street in town or a lay-by on the A4086.
- We find someone close by. With over 100 mobile fitters spread across England and Wales, we pass your job to whoever can reach you soonest.
- Repair or replace, on the spot. A repairable puncture is fixed; otherwise a new tyre is fitted and balanced, and the old one is taken away, at no extra charge for either.
- Pay and drive away. Card, cash or bank transfer are all fine, and there are no hidden fees. New tyres carry the maker's guarantee.

Bontnewydd, Llanrug, Waunfawr and the Wider Area
Within Caernarfon we cover the town centre, the waterfront and the residential streets around them. Close by, our fitters regularly attend Bontnewydd and Llanwnda to the south, Caeathro and Llanrug to the east, Waunfawr up the A4085, and Y Felinheli along the Menai Strait.
The A487 bypass, the A4086, A4085 and A499 are all within reach. For neighbouring areas, see our pages for Bangor to the north-east and Holyhead across on Anglesey.
Stone Walls and Narrow Lanes: Watch Your Sidewalls
Many of the minor roads inland from Caernarfon are narrow, with stone walls or banks right at the edge. Pulling over tight to let an oncoming car or tractor pass is the classic way to scuff a sidewall on a protruding stone, and the damage isn't always obvious straight away.
After a close call, take a look at the tyre when you next stop. A bulge or bubble on the side means the internal structure has been broken, and that tyre can fail without warning; it can't be repaired, so don't drive on it further than you have to. Deep cuts showing cords are just as serious. If you find either, call us and we'll fit a replacement where the car is.

Phone 07989 606060 at any time. You're also welcome to contact us on WhatsApp or through the website form.
To help us bring the right tyre, read the size off the sidewall, have your registration to hand and tell us your location as precisely as you can, ideally with a postcode or the name of the nearest village. On the bypass, the direction you were heading and the last roundabout you passed are a big help.
