Portishead Tyre Fitting Without the Trip to a Garage
Portishead sits on the Severn estuary, and almost every drive out of town starts on the A369. That road runs through Easton-in-Gordano to junction 19 of the M5, beside the Gordano services, then on through Abbots Leigh towards Bristol. In the evening rush, traffic leaving the southbound M5 at junction 19 for Portishead, Pill, Portbury and Nailsea can back up, and a flat tyre in that queue is not where anyone wants to be.
We'll come to you instead. A mobile fitter brings the tyre and the tools to the car, whether it's on a drive near the marina, in a car park in the town centre or tucked into a residential street towards Redcliffe Bay. We work all day and all night, every day, and we aim to reach most customers within 60 minutes, subject to traffic and location.
The town has grown a lot over the years, with plenty of newer homes and newer cars to match. That's useful to know, because modern cars often come with low-profile or run-flat tyres and locking wheel nuts, so tell us about your car when you call and the fitter will bring the right kit.
Why Portishead Drivers Choose a Mobile Fitter
Being at the end of one main road means a trip to a fitting centre often involves the A369 and the motorway junction. Calling us out cuts all that out:
- One of our 100+ fitters across England and Wales is sent from as close by as possible.
- The job is done at the car, so you can stay at home or at your desk.
- Wheel balancing and old tyre disposal come free with every fitting.
- New tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee, and there are no hidden fees.
Payment is taken by card, bank transfer or cash once the fitter has finished.
If you're leaving for work early, you can arrange for the fitter to come to your workplace instead of your home, as long as the car is parked somewhere accessible and you can leave the keys with someone. Just tell us the address and the best way to reach you.

Run-Flat Tyres: What You Need to Know
Run-flat tyres have stiffened sidewalls that let you keep driving for a limited distance after a puncture, usually around 50 miles at no more than 50mph, though your handbook has the exact figures. They're common on newer cars, and they often mean there's no spare wheel in the boot at all.
Because a run-flat doesn't sag obviously, you may only know about a puncture from the pressure warning light. When it comes on, slow down and head for somewhere safe to stop rather than pressing on to Bristol. Many manufacturers advise against repairing a run-flat once it has been driven on deflated, so be prepared for a replacement. It's also best to replace run-flats with run-flats, as the car's suspension is often set up for them.
