A Town Split by Western Avenue
Northolt spreads across both sides of the A40 Western Avenue, the dual carriageway that carries traffic between central London and the western suburbs. North of it are the older streets around Northolt Village; south of it, Northolt West End runs down until the housing joins up with Yeading. The A312 crosses the town north to south on Church Road and the Hayes Bypass, and the A4180 Ruislip Road and West End Road link up with it at a busy roundabout.
For most Northolt drivers, the A40 is part of nearly every journey, whether they're heading into town or out towards Uxbridge and the M40. Fast roads like that are where a slow puncture tends to show itself. If you find yourself with a flat, on the A40, on the A312 or simply outside home, one of our mobile fitters can come out and deal with it where the car is.
We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we aim to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases. Traffic on the A40 and around the A312 junctions can affect timings.
How It Works When You Call From Northolt
- Tell us what's happened. Where you are, the car, and the tyre size from the sidewall if you can read it.
- We send someone close. Our network of more than 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales means the nearest free fitter is sent.
- Repaired or replaced on the spot. The fitter repairs the tyre when it's safe, or fits a new one, balancing the wheel and disposing of the old tyre free of charge.
New tyres are backed by the manufacturer's guarantee. Pay by card, cash or bank transfer; there are no hidden fees.
Away from the main roads, most Northolt jobs are on residential streets, often with the car parked half on a driveway or tucked into a bay outside a block of flats. That is normally all the space a fitter needs. If the car is boxed in or on a steep slope, mention it when you call so we can plan around it.
Mobile Tyre Services in Northolt
- Mobile tyre fitting: tyres to suit your car and budget, fitted on your drive or at the roadside anywhere in the area.
- Puncture repair: small, clean punctures in the centre of the tread can usually be repaired to British Standard guidance.
- Van tyres: for tradespeople and couriers who rely on the A40 and A312, so a puncture doesn't cost a day's work.
- Breakdown recovery: for a damaged wheel, a car that can't be fixed at the roadside, or a stop somewhere on the A40 that isn't safe.
Northolt and the Neighbouring Areas
We cover all of Northolt, including Northolt Village and Northolt West End, along with the A40 Western Avenue, the A312 and the A4180. Northolt sits in the north-west corner of the London Borough of Ealing, where it meets Harrow and Hillingdon.
Our fitters also cover Yeading, South Harrow, Sudbury Hill and Perivale, and the neighbouring towns of Greenford, Ruislip and Hayes.
If a Tyre Fails on the A40
A tyre that suddenly loses pressure at dual carriageway speed feels alarming, but the right reaction is a gentle one. Hold the steering wheel firmly, ease off the accelerator and let the car slow down on its own. Avoid braking hard or swerving; once you're down to a sensible speed, indicate and move left.
Stop as far from the traffic as you can: a slip road, a lay-by or the next side road is far better than the edge of a live lane. Switch the hazard lights on and, if it's safe, get everyone out on the side away from the traffic and stand well back behind any barrier. Don't try to change the wheel next to fast-moving lanes. Call us from somewhere safe and tell us the direction you were travelling and the nearest junction, so the fitter can reach you.
