Mobile Tyres for Haslemere and Its Country Roads
Haslemere sits in the far south-west corner of Surrey, close to both the Hampshire and West Sussex borders, and the roads around it reflect that. The A286 winds down through Grayswood into the town and on towards Midhurst, the A287 climbs out past Beacon Hill towards Farnham, and the B2131 heads west to Liphook. The A3 runs in a tunnel beneath Hindhead, just to the west of the town.
Outside the town centre many of these routes are rural and narrow in places, which is not where you want to change a wheel yourself. Our fitters come out to you instead, whether you're on a driveway in Critchmere or pulled into a gateway on a country road. We operate all day and all night, and in most cases we aim to arrive within 60 minutes, although rural spots and traffic can add to that.
Plenty of people here drive to the station or out to the A3 every weekday, so a flat first thing in the morning is a common call. Let us know when you need the car back and we'll do our best to work around it. If the car is safely parked at home, the fitter can often get on with the job while you carry on with your day.
Why a Mobile Fitter Makes Sense Here
In a small town surrounded by countryside, the nearest tyre centre with your size in stock may be some distance away. Bringing the tyre to the car saves you that drive, and it saves you driving on a damaged tyre to get there.
- Give us the details. Your location, the tyre size and what you can see: a flat, a bulge or a nail in the tread.
- A nearby fitter takes the job. We have over 100 mobile fitters spread across England and Wales, so someone in reach of Haslemere is sent.
- Fitted on the spot. Wheel balancing and disposal of the old tyre are free, new tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee, and you can pay by card, cash or bank transfer.
Tyre Help Available in Haslemere
- Mobile tyre fitting: new tyres in a choice of price ranges, fitted wherever you are, which is handy if you're out in one of the villages and can't easily get to a workshop.
- Puncture repair: small punctures in the central tread are repaired to British Standard guidance; damage near the shoulder or sidewall means a replacement.
- Van tyres: for tradespeople covering the rural parishes around the town, fitted where the van is parked.
- Breakdown recovery: when a car has come off worse on a lane and the wheel itself is damaged, recovery can be arranged.
Hindhead, Grayswood and the Wider Area
The parish takes in Hindhead, Beacon Hill and Grayswood as well as the settlements of Shottermill and Critchmere, and we cover each of them. Over the border we also go to Liphook, along the B2131.
Further afield, our fitters work in Godalming to the north-east, Farnham at the far end of the A287 and Petersfield down the A3.
Check for Sidewall Bulges After Hitting a Pothole
Country lanes collect potholes, especially after a wet winter, and a hard hit can damage a tyre without letting any air out. The sign to look for is a bulge or blister on the sidewall. It means the internal cords have broken and the tyre could fail without warning.
If you've hit something hard, stop when it's safe and look at both sides of the tyre, including the inner wall if you can see it. A bulge can't be repaired, so don't drive on it further than you need to. Call us, and we'll fit a new tyre where the car is. It's also worth looking at the wheel rim for dents, which can cause a slow leak.
