Fareham Tyre Fitting Without the Garage Trip
Fareham sits at the north-west tip of Portsmouth Harbour, halfway between Portsmouth and Southampton, and the M27 ties it to both. Junction 9 serves the west of the borough and Whiteley, while junctions 10 and 11 serve the east. The A27 links those junctions to the town, and the A32 crosses the borough north to south, meeting the A27 in the centre. In the rush hour, that is a lot of traffic sharing a few key roundabouts.
When a tyre lets you down, the last thing you want is to join that traffic on a flat. So we come to you instead. A mobile fitter arrives with the tyre and equipment and gets the job done on the drive, at the kerb or in the car park, 24 hours a day.
It isn't only for emergencies. A tyre that keeps losing air, a cord showing through on the inside edge, or a warning light that won't go out are all good reasons to book a visit at a time that suits you, before a small problem leaves you stuck somewhere less convenient.
For most of the borough we aim to be with you within 60 minutes. It can take a little longer when the M27 is congested.
Reasons Fareham Drivers Use a Mobile Fitter
- You stay put. The fitter comes to your home in Stubbington or your office near the motorway, so there's no waiting room and no lift home to organise.
- The extras are included. Wheel balancing is done free, and your old tyre is taken away and disposed of at no charge.
- Experienced people. The work goes to one of more than 100 mobile fitters around England and Wales, with decades of experience between them.
- Straight pricing. The cost depends on tyre size, brand, time and location, and is competitive with no hidden fees. Pay by card, cash or bank transfer.
Services We Bring to Fareham
- Mobile tyre fitting: new tyres in budget, mid-range or premium ranges, each backed by the manufacturer's guarantee, fitted in Locks Heath, Titchfield or anywhere else in the borough.
- Puncture repair: following British Standard guidance, we repair punctures under 6 mm in the central part of the tread. If a repair isn't safe, a new tyre goes on during the same visit.
- Van tyres: tradespeople working between Fareham, Portsmouth and Southampton can have van tyres changed at the site they're working on.
- Breakdown recovery: if the wheel is damaged or the vehicle needs moving from a dangerous spot, recovery is available.
Western Wards, Portchester and Neighbouring Towns
We cover Fareham town centre and the settlements around it: Portchester to the east; Titchfield, Stubbington and Titchfield Common to the south and west; and Locks Heath, Park Gate, Sarisbury, Swanwick and Whiteley out towards the M27. Roads include the M27 at junctions 9, 10 and 11, plus the A27 and A32.
Fitters also head down the A32 to Gosport, east to Portsmouth, and west along the motorway to Southampton.
Read the Date on Your Tyres
Tread depth isn't the only thing that matters. Rubber hardens and cracks with age, even on a car that rarely leaves the drive. A second car used for short trips, or a motorhome parked up over winter, can have plenty of tread on tyres that are well past their best.
Look on the sidewall for a four-digit code after the letters DOT. The first two digits are the week and the last two the year it was made, so 2319 means the 23rd week of 2019. Check the surface too: fine cracks between the tread blocks or around the sidewall are a sign the rubber is ageing. Many manufacturers suggest having older tyres inspected regularly, and if you're unsure, our fitter can take a look when they're with you.
