Mobile Tyres on the Falmouth Peninsula
Falmouth sits on a peninsula at the mouth of Carrick Roads, with water on three sides and one main way in: the A39, which skirts Penryn on its bypass before running down into town. That makes the town easy to reach and awkward to leave in a hurry, especially with a damaged tyre. Steep residential roads, on-street parking and tight harbourside streets add their own wear.
So instead of you driving to a fitter, the fitter drives to you. Tell us where the car is and a mobile technician arrives with the tyre and tools, ready to fit it on the street, in a car park or on your drive. We run all day and all night, every day, and aim to reach most customers within 60 minutes, traffic on the A39 permitting.
Why a Mobile Fitter Makes Sense Here
Plenty of people in and around Falmouth don't drive every day. Students, harbour workers and people who walk into town often leave a car parked for a week or more, and only find the flat when they need it. Booking a mobile fitter means the problem gets fixed where the car already is.
The job goes to the closest of our 100+ fitters across England and Wales. Balancing comes free with every tyre, as does disposing of the old one, and new tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee. The price is competitive with no hidden fees, and you can pay by card, cash or bank transfer.
Four Ways We Help
- Tyre fitting at your address, with budget, mid-range and premium options for most cars.
- Puncture repairs where the damage is small and in the middle of the tread, in line with British Standard guidance. Otherwise we replace the tyre there and then.
- Van and light commercial tyres for the marine trades, builders and couriers working around the harbour and Penryn.
- Recovery when a wheel is too badly damaged to fix on the spot.
Not sure which of these you need? Describe the damage when you ring and we'll say whether it sounds repairable.
Penryn, Mylor and the Rest of Our Patch
We cover the whole of Falmouth and neighbouring Penryn, about a mile up the Penryn River. Our fitters also travel out to Budock, Mabe, Mawnan, Constantine and Mylor at the head of Mylor Creek, and along the A39 bypass.
Heading north, we reach Truro, and to the west we cover Camborne and Redruth.
Parked near the seafront or down a narrow lane by one of the creeks? Tell us when you call. The fitter needs room to work safely around the wheel, and knowing about tight access in advance means they can plan where to stop the van. If the car is somewhere it really can't be worked on, we'll talk you through the options.
A Car That's Been Sitting Still Needs Checking
Tyres lose a little air even when nothing is wrong, and a car left untouched for weeks can end up with one or more tyres well below the right pressure. Driving off on them, particularly with a heavy load or onto the A39 at speed, overheats the sidewall.
If your car spends long spells parked, for example over a university term or while you're away at sea, check all four pressures before the first drive back, using the figures inside the driver's door or in the handbook. A tyre that's completely flat may have been damaged by sitting on its rim, so it's worth having it inspected rather than simply pumping it up.
