Tyre failure in Enfield? Call us any time

Flat tyres don't keep office hours, and in Enfield they turn up in all sorts of places. A blowout on the A10 Great Cambridge Road close to junction 25, a tear on Mollison Avenue on the way to a shift in Brimsdown, or a car leaning on a flat on a dark lane up by Forty Hill. Whenever it happens, ring us. We answer day and night, seven days a week, and the nearest available fitter comes to you with a replacement tyre and the kit to fit it on the spot.

We aim to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases. North London traffic has its say, so we'll give you a straight answer on timing when you call.

Staying out of danger until the fitter arrives

  • M25 at junctions 24 and 25: move onto the hard shoulder, or into an emergency area if one is closer, and turn on the hazards. Get out by the left-hand doors and wait behind the barrier, up the verge. If you're in an emergency area or have stopped in a live lane, phone National Highways on 0300 123 5000. Leave the wheel to us. Our motorway flat tyre advice explains why.
  • The A10, the A1055 and the North Circular: fast, busy roads with very little room at the side. Keep moving slowly with the hazards on to the next turn-off, side road or car park entrance. If you have to stop, everyone out on the kerb side and well away from the traffic.
  • Hertford Road and Green Lanes: long, busy roads with bus stops and parked cars. Turn off into a side street rather than stopping in the lane.

Back on the road without a garage visit

In most cases the fitter replaces the tyre where you are. If a small puncture sits in the central part of the tread and the tyre hasn't been driven flat, it can often be repaired to British Standard guidance instead. A warning light with no obvious damage may be a slow leak; our guide to the tyre pressure warning light explains what to check. Where roadside work isn't safe, or a wheel is bent or cracked, we can arrange breakdown recovery.

Choose from premium, mid-range and budget tyres, each covered by the manufacturer's guarantee. Balancing and disposal of the old tyre are included free.

Find the locking wheel nut key before the fitter gets there. It tends to live in the glovebox or under the boot floor. If you can't find it, say so on the phone.

Dark lanes on the northern edge of the borough

Enfield doesn't stop at the suburbs. North and west of Enfield Town, around Forty Hill, Clay Hill, Bulls Cross and Crews Hill, the streets give way to narrow country lanes with hedges, no pavements and long unlit stretches. The Ridgeway towards Potters Bar is similar after dark. A flat out there is a different problem from one on a lit residential road: other drivers won't expect a stopped car on a bend.

If it happens, pull as far onto the verge or into a gateway as you safely can, hazards on and sidelights on. Get out and stand well back, beyond the car rather than in front of it, and don't try to fit a spare in the dark with traffic passing. Give us the nearest road name or a what3words reference and we'll find you.
