Tyres Fitted Around Bishop Auckland
Bishop Auckland is a market town on the edge of the Durham dales, and the roads around it show it. The A688 runs through on its way from Barnard Castle to Spennymoor and Durham, the A68 skirts the town past West Auckland, and the A689 sets off west into Weardale. Many people living here drive a mix of town streets and quiet country roads, and either can leave you with a flat. Wherever you end up, one of our mobile fitters can come out and sort the tyre on the spot.
We work every hour of every day. In most cases we aim to reach you within 60 minutes, depending on traffic and on how far out of town you are.
Lots of calls start the same way: someone walks out in the morning, finds a tyre sitting on the rim and has to be somewhere within the hour. Because the fitter comes to the house, you can carry on getting ready while the tyre is changed. The same applies at work: the car can stay in the staff car park, and you only need to hand over the keys.
Why a Mobile Fitter Makes Sense Here
Out on a dale road, the nearest garage might be a long drive away on a tyre you shouldn't be driving on. Even in town, getting a car with a puncture to a tyre centre means pumping it up, hoping it holds and waiting your turn. Calling a fitter to you skips all of that.
- Ring or message with your location. A postcode, a road name or a nearby junction is enough.
- The closest fitter sets off. We have over 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales.
- Repair or replacement where you are. Balancing and old-tyre disposal are free, new tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee, and there are no hidden fees. Pay by card, cash or bank transfer.
Help on Offer for Auckland Drivers
- Mobile tyre fitting: premium, mid-range or budget tyres, fitted on your drive in Woodhouse Close, Henknowle or Cockton Hill.
- Puncture repair: a thorn or nail from a farm track can often be repaired, as long as it hasn't gone through the sidewall or shoulder.
- Van tyres: for vans working the town and the villages around it, fitted at the yard, the site or the kerb.
- Breakdown recovery: for when a car is stuck somewhere unsafe, or the wheel itself has been damaged.
Neighbourhoods, Villages and Roads Covered
Within the town we cover Cockton Hill, Woodhouse Close, Henknowle, Toronto, South Church and Tindale Crescent. Around it, our fitters go to St Helen Auckland, West Auckland, Escomb, Etherley, Coundon, Shildon and Spennymoor. The main roads are the A688, the A68 and the A689.
We also cover Durham, along the A688 to the north-east, and Darlington to the south-east.
Dale Roads and Your Spare Wheel
Head up Weardale or out along the A68 and you quickly find stretches with broken edges, loose gravel and potholes after a wet winter. Hitting one hard can cause a sudden flat or a bulge in the sidewall. Out there, phone signal can be patchy too, so it pays to know what your car carries before you need it.
Many newer cars have no spare at all, just an inflation kit that won't help with a large hole or a damaged sidewall. Others have a space-saver, which is limited to a lower speed and should only get you to somewhere safe. Check the boot now, check the spare's pressure a couple of times a year, and if the car has only a kit, make sure it hasn't passed its use-by date.
