Mobile Tyre Help for a City Built Around the Car
Few UK cities lean on their roads quite like Birmingham. The M6 crosses the north of the city through Spaghetti Junction, the A38(M) Aston Expressway feeds traffic straight into the centre, the M5 and M42 wrap around the west and south, and the Middleway ring road links the inner suburbs. Add the Queensway tunnels and miles of busy red-brick terraces, and there are a lot of places for a tyre to let you down.
Our fitters come to wherever the car is, whether that is a residents' street in Moseley, a staff car park in the Jewellery Quarter or a lay-by on the A45. We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and in most cases aim to get someone to you within 60 minutes. City traffic does affect that, so we will give you a realistic idea when you call.
From Phone Call to Fitted Tyre
- You ring or message us. Tell us the postcode or road, the registration and, if you can see it, the size moulded into the tyre wall.
- A fitter nearby takes the job. With more than 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, the work goes to whoever is closest to your part of the city.
- The work is done at the kerb or on the drive. Balancing is free, the worn or damaged tyre is taken away for disposal at no charge, and every new tyre comes with its manufacturer's guarantee.
You settle up afterwards by card, cash or bank transfer. Nothing hidden gets added to the bill.
Our Services Across Birmingham
- Mobile tyre fitting: one tyre or a full set, chosen from budget, mid-range and premium ranges, fitted at home in Harborne or outside the office in Edgbaston.
- Puncture repair: city streets collect screws and glass, and many of those holes can be repaired safely if they are in the middle of the tread rather than near the shoulder.
- Van tyres: multi-drop and trade vans clock up big mileage on Birmingham's ring roads; we fit van and light commercial tyres where the vehicle is parked.
- Breakdown recovery: for a cracked alloy or a car stranded somewhere unsafe, such as a slip road off the M6.
Districts and Roads We Reach
We cover the city centre and the suburbs around it, including Edgbaston, Harborne, Selly Oak, Moseley, Kings Heath, Erdington and Sutton Coldfield. On the road network, that means the M6 around junction 6, the A38(M), the stretches of M5 and M42 that serve the city, and the main radial routes such as the A34, A38 and A45.
Neighbouring areas have their own pages too: Solihull, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Stourbridge.
Found a Screw in Your Tyre? Leave It Where It Is
With so much building work and so many busy kerbsides, picking up a nail or screw is one of the most common reasons Birmingham drivers ring us. The natural reaction is to pull it out. Please don't.
While the object is still in the tread it usually plugs most of the hole, so the tyre loses air slowly. Pull it out and a slow leak can become a flat in minutes. Instead:
- Note roughly where it is on the tread: centre, or close to the edge.
- Check whether the tyre is visibly low, and avoid long or fast journeys until it has been seen.
- If the tyre is still holding, a short, gentle drive home or to a safe spot is usually fine. If it's flat, stay put.
A fitter can then judge whether a proper repair is possible. Damage in the central three-quarters of the tread and smaller than 6 mm can normally be repaired; anything on the shoulder or sidewall means a new tyre.
