Next Door to Spaghetti Junction
Few places in the country sit as close to a motorway interchange as Erdington. Spaghetti Junction, where the M6 meets the A38 at junction 6, is on the doorstep, and the A38 relief road carries traffic between there and central Birmingham. Add Tyburn Road running out towards Castle Vale and a busy high street in the middle, and it's no surprise that tyres here take a fair amount of punishment.
When one gives up, you don't need to find a garage with a free bay. Our mobile fitters come to the car, whether it's on a terraced street near the high street, in a retail park car park or on a driveway in Pype Hayes. We're available 24/7 and aim to get someone to you within 60 minutes in most cases, depending on traffic around the junction.
Why a Mobile Fitter Suits North Birmingham
Driving on a flat to reach a tyre shop usually destroys the tyre and can damage the wheel. A call-out avoids that. You ring us, we pass the job to the closest fitter in our network of more than 100 across England and Wales, and the work is done where you are.
- Free balancing on every wheel we fit.
- Free disposal of the old tyre, so you're not left with it in the boot.
- Manufacturer's guarantee on new tyres, whichever range you choose.
- Clear pricing with no hidden fees; pay by card, cash or bank transfer.
How We Help Erdington Motorists
- Mobile tyre fitting: budget, mid-range or premium tyres fitted outside your home in Stockland Green or Perry Common, or at your workplace.
- Puncture repair: many punctures from screws and nails are repairable if they're in the central tread and under 6mm. We check first and only recommend a new tyre if a repair wouldn't be safe.
- Van tyres: delivery and trade vans use the M6 and the Tyburn Road corridor all day; we keep them moving with on-the-spot fitting.
- Breakdown recovery: for a damaged wheel or a car stuck on a slip road where it isn't safe to work on it.
Estates, Wards and Main Routes We Reach
Our fitters work right across the district: Erdington itself, Castle Vale, Gravelly Hill, Kingstanding, Oscott, Perry Common, Pype Hayes and Stockland Green. We're often called to the A38, the A5127, Tyburn Road and the M6 either side of junction 6.
Heading north, the A5127 takes you to Sutton Coldfield, which we also cover. To the east is Coleshill, and to the north-west Walsall.
Short of the motorway, a lot of our Erdington work is on residential streets where cars are parked nose to tail. If the fitter can get safely to the affected wheel, the job can usually be done right there, even with a car parked close in front or behind.
Flat on an Elevated Motorway Section? Read the Blue Signs
Around the interchange, parts of the M6 run on raised sections with little room to pull over, and when a tyre fails it's easy to lose track of exactly where you stopped. That matters when help has to find you on the right carriageway.
Look for the small blue driver location signs at the roadside. They show the motorway, the direction and a distance number, and reading them out to us pinpoints you far faster than "somewhere near the junction". If you can, move to an emergency area or the hard shoulder, switch on hazard lights, get everyone out on the side away from traffic and wait behind the barrier. Never try to change a wheel next to a live lane: let us or the recovery team handle it.
