Before a towing trip, check the trailer's tyre pressures against the maker's figures, which are often much higher than a car's. Look for cracks in the sidewall and check the date code. Don't forget the car either: many handbooks give a higher rear pressure for towing or carrying a heavy load. A tyre failure on a trailer can make the whole outfit unstable, so a few minutes of checks is well worth it.
