On the Seafront or the Ridgeway: Mobile Tyres in Weymouth
Almost every drive into Weymouth comes down the A354. Since the Relief Road opened, it runs from the top of Ridgeway Hill down to the Manor Roundabout near Radipole, and carries traffic eight miles or so north to Dorchester. Head the other way and the same road takes you across the bridge to the Isle of Portland. In between are seafront roads, older streets in Melcombe Regis and Westham, and the estates of Littlemoor and Southill.
A flat tyre in any of those places is something we can deal with without you moving the car. One of our mobile fitters travels to you with a new tyre and fits it on the spot, so you're not driving across town on a tyre that's already failing. We work every hour of every day, aiming to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases. Holiday traffic along the front in summer can add some time.
How Our Fitters Work in Weymouth
- Get in touch and describe where you are, whether that's a street in Preston, a car park near the harbour or a lay-by on the A354.
- A fitter is sent from our network of more than 100 across England and Wales, choosing whoever is closest.
- Your tyre is fixed or replaced where the car is. Balancing and disposal of the old tyre cost nothing extra, and new tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee.
- You pay by card, cash or bank transfer. There are no hidden fees.
Our Weymouth Services
For worn or damaged tyres, mobile tyre fitting brings budget, mid-range or premium replacements to your home in Upwey or your workplace in town.
For a nail or screw, mobile puncture repair is often the answer, as long as the hole is under 6 mm and in the central part of the tread. Otherwise we replace the tyre there and then.
For businesses, van tyre fitting keeps delivery and trade vans running through the busy season. For more serious trouble, breakdown recovery can move a car that isn't safe to drive.
Radipole, Preston, Portland and Places Around
We cover Weymouth town centre and Melcombe Regis, plus Radipole, Preston, Westham, Wyke Regis, Southill, Littlemoor, Upwey, Broadwey and Chickerell. The Isle of Portland is part of our patch too, including Fortuneswell, Easton and Southwell.
Main routes are covered as well, so if you pull over on the Relief Road, on the long climb up Ridgeway Hill or on the road across to Portland, give us the nearest landmark or roundabout and the fitter will find you. Stay well back from the traffic while you wait.
Up the A354, our fitters also work in Dorchester, and we cover Yeovil and Poole as well.
Salt, Sand and Slow Leaks from Alloy Wheels
Cars that live near the sea, as plenty in Weymouth and on Portland do, get a regular coating of salty spray and fine sand. Over time this can corrode alloy wheels where the tyre sits against the rim. The seal between tyre and wheel stops being airtight, and you get a tyre that loses a few PSI a week with no nail in sight.
Rinsing the wheels with fresh water now and then helps, especially after winter when the roads have been gritted as well. If a tyre keeps going down and you can't find a puncture, mention it when you call: a fitter can take the tyre off, clean up the rim, and reseat it properly. Valves suffer in the same conditions, so it's worth having those checked at the same time.
