Mobile Tyre Fitting for the Canal Town
Stone sits on the A34 roughly halfway between Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent, with the Trent and Mersey Canal running through it and the M6 passing nearby between junctions 14 and 15. Many people living here commute one way or the other each morning, while the A520 brings traffic in from the Leek direction and the A51 meets the A34 just north of town at Meaford.
If one of your tyres lets you down, our fitters will come to wherever the car is: on the drive in Walton, along a street near the high street, or on the verge of a country lane outside the town. They carry the tyres and the kit to finish the job there and then. Calls are taken around the clock, and we aim to reach you within an hour in most cases, depending on traffic and how far out you are.
What Happens After You Ring
- Describe the problem. A flat, a slow leak, a split in the side of the tyre: tell us what you can see and where you are.
- The closest available fitter heads out. With over 100 mobile fitters working across England and Wales, the one we send is normally already nearby.
- It's fixed where the car stands. Free balancing and free disposal of your old tyre are part of every fitting, and the manufacturer's guarantee covers each new tyre.
You pay at the end by card, cash or transfer, and nothing extra is tacked on afterwards.
Because the fitter comes to you, there's no need to drive to Stafford or into the Potteries on a space-saver, and no waiting room. Plenty of our Stone customers get the tyre changed outside the house while they carry on working from home, or have it done in the car park while they're on shift.

Check the Age of Tyres on Cars That Rarely Go Far
A lot of cars in a small town like this do short trips: to the shops, to the station, round the villages. They can go years without wearing their tyres down, which sounds like good news until the rubber itself starts to age. Old tyres harden, lose grip in the wet and develop fine cracks in the sidewall and between the tread blocks.
Every tyre has a four-digit date code on its sidewall: the first two digits are the week and the last two the year it was made, so 2219 means week 22 of 2019. If yours are well into their second half-decade, look closely for cracking, and get them checked if you see any. The same goes for a car or caravan that has stood still for months, where flat spots can form on the part of the tyre that has been resting on the ground.
