Tyres Fitted Around the City of Nottingham
Driving in Nottingham usually means one of three things: crawling round the A6514 ring road, queueing on the A52 along Clifton Boulevard, or heading up Mansfield Road (the A60) out of the centre. Add the M1 to the west, with junctions 24 to 26 all feeding traffic towards the city, and there are plenty of places for a tyre to give up at an awkward moment.
When it does, our job is simple. A fitter drives to wherever your car is, brings the right tyre with them and does the work on the spot. That might be a terraced street in Sneinton, a work car park near the city centre, a driveway in Mapperley or a side road off the A610 near Bobbers Mill. We run 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and in most cases aim to get to you within 60 minutes, though city traffic can slow things at peak times.
Why Nottingham Drivers Skip the Garage Queue
Limping across the city on a flat to a tyre bay, then waiting for a slot, can swallow half a day. Having the work done where you are is quicker and kinder to the wheel. Here is what you get:
- Someone nearby. We have more than 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, and the job goes to whoever is closest to you.
- An honest repair-or-replace decision. If the puncture sits in the central three-quarters of the tread and is under 6 mm, it can usually be repaired.
- Free extras. Balancing and disposal of your old tyre cost nothing, and new tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee.
- Easy payment. Card, cash or bank transfer once the job is finished, with no hidden fees.
What We Can Do for You in Nottingham
Most call-outs in the city fall into one of four groups:
- Mobile tyre fitting: replacement tyres in budget, mid-range or premium brands, fitted outside your home in Sherwood or your office in the Lace Market.
- Puncture repair: nails and screws picked up on city streets are common, and many can be plugged safely the same day.
- Van tyre fitting: for couriers and trades working the city's estates and industrial areas, so the van gets back on the road quickly.
- Breakdown recovery: when the wheel or suspension is damaged and the car has to be moved rather than fixed at the roadside.
Nottingham Areas and Surrounding Towns
Inside the city we cover Basford, Bulwell, Bilborough, Aspley, Radford, Lenton, Hyson Green, Forest Fields, Carrington, Sherwood, St Ann's, The Meadows, Wilford, Clifton, Top Valley and Rise Park, along with the city centre itself. Fitters also work the main routes in and out: the A52, A60, A610 and A453, the ring road, and the M1 around junction 26 and the Trowell services stretch between junctions 25 and 26.
Beyond the city boundary we reach the suburbs and towns around it, including West Bridgford, Beeston, Arnold and Hucknall, and further out towards Gedling and Derby.
Ring Road Tip: Where to Stop With a Flat
A tyre going down on a dual carriageway with traffic close behind you is unnerving, and the instinct is to stop immediately. On a busy urban road that is often the wrong choice. If the car is still driving straight and the tyre hasn't come off the rim, slow down, put your hazard lights on and roll gently to the next side street, lay-by or car park entrance.
A few hundred metres at low speed rarely does more harm, and it gives you somewhere far safer to wait. Once you've stopped, get passengers out on the pavement side, keep away from the traffic and call us with the name of the road or a nearby junction so the fitter can find you quickly.
