A Fitter Who Comes Out to Knowle
Knowle is a large village about three miles south-east of Solihull, strung along the A4141 Warwick Road. It merges into Dorridge and Bentley Heath to the south, and junction 5 of the M42 is roughly a mile to the north. So in a single trip you might pass through a village high street, onto quiet rural roads towards Chadwick End and Warwick, and then up onto a motorway. Each of those has its own way of damaging a tyre.
Whichever caught you out, you do not have to drive anywhere to get it sorted. Our fitters travel to you, around the clock, and in most cases we aim to arrive within 60 minutes. Out on the lanes beyond the village it can take a little longer, depending on where exactly you are.
Why Knowle Households Use a Mobile Service
If your car is on a driveway, that is an ideal spot for a tyre change. You can stay indoors while the work is done, and there is no need to book a slot, take time off or find a lift back from the garage. Parked on the high street or in a car park in Dorridge instead? That works too, provided the fitter has room to get at the wheel safely.
- Send us the details. Location, registration and the tyre size from the sidewall are ideal.
- We match you with a nearby fitter. Our network has over 100 experienced fitters across England and Wales.
- Your tyre is fitted and balanced. Balancing and disposal are free, and new tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee.
Pay by card, cash or bank transfer. Our prices are competitive and come with no hidden fees.
What We Offer Around the Village
- Mobile tyre fitting: new tyres in premium, mid-range or budget ranges, including the larger sizes found on many family SUVs.
- Puncture repair: small punctures well inside the tread can be repaired safely, so you are not paying for a tyre you do not need.
- Van tyres: builders and tradespeople working on homes around Knowle and Dorridge can have a van tyre replaced on site.
- Breakdown recovery: if a pothole has bent a wheel or the car has stopped somewhere unsafe on a narrow road, we can arrange recovery.
Dorridge, Bentley Heath and the Warwick Road
As well as Knowle itself, we cover neighbouring Dorridge and Bentley Heath, the A4141 out through Chadwick End, and the M42 at junction 5. The Grand Union Canal runs past the village, and the lanes around Knowle Locks and the Kenilworth Road are within our area too.
Knowle belongs to the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull. If you are a little further out, take a look at our pages for Shirley, Warwick and Kenilworth.
After a Pothole, Look for a Bulge
Country roads outside the village can be rough after a wet winter, and a hard knock into a pothole does more than jolt the car. The impact can pinch the tyre against the rim and break the cords inside the sidewall. The tyre may hold air perfectly well, but a lump or bulge appears on the side, sometimes days later.
A bulge means the tyre's structure is damaged, and it cannot be repaired. It can fail suddenly, especially at motorway speed. So after a heavy hit, park up somewhere safe and run your eye along both sidewalls of the tyre that took it, inside and out if you can. Look for bulges, cuts or a dent in the rim edge. If the steering starts pulling or vibrating afterwards, the wheel alignment may also have been knocked out. In either case, it is better to have the tyre changed on your drive than to risk the M42 on it.
