Getting Henley Drivers Moving Again
Henley-on-Thames is a riverside town where most traffic funnels through a few pinch points: the old bridge over the Thames, the Market Place and the narrow streets around Hart Street and Bell Street. From here, people drive out along the A4130 towards Maidenhead and the M4, the A4155 to Reading or Marlow, or up the Fair Mile into the Chiltern hills. In summer, regatta crowds and day visitors make parking even tighter.
A flat in the middle of all that is the last thing you need, and squeezing a damaged car into a garage queue is rarely easy. One of our mobile fitters can come to wherever the car is instead, at any hour of the day or night. In most cases we aim to reach you within 60 minutes, depending on traffic and your exact location.
What You Get When a Fitter Comes Out
You call, we arrange a fitter, and the tyre gets sorted at your home, workplace or roadside spot. Included every time:
- A fitter from a wide network. We work with over 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, so the job goes to someone near the Henley area.
- Balancing and tyre disposal. Both free, with every tyre we fit.
- Guaranteed tyres. New tyres, whether premium, mid-range or budget, carry the manufacturer's guarantee.
- Payment on completion. Cash, card or bank transfer, at competitive prices with no hidden fees.
Tyre Services Around Henley-on-Thames
- Mobile tyre fitting: replacement car tyres fitted on your drive in Badgemore or Harpsden, or wherever you've parked near the town centre.
- Puncture repair: many punctures can be repaired properly if the damage is under 6 mm and away from the shoulder of the tyre. We'll tell you honestly if a repair isn't safe and fit a new one instead.
- Van tyres: for the builders, gardeners and caterers who keep the town and its events running, with van and light commercial tyres changed where you're working.
- Breakdown recovery: for when the wheel is damaged, or the car has stopped somewhere it can't stay, such as on the bridge approach.
Both Banks of the Thames and the Hills Behind
Our fitters cover the town itself along with Remenham across the river, Harpsden, Rotherfield Greys, Rotherfield Peppard, Shiplake, Lower Shiplake, Binfield Heath, Bix, Nettlebed and Hambleden. Main routes include the A4130, the A4155 and the roads up into the Chilterns.

Towing a Boat or Trailer? Check Its Tyres Too
With the river on the doorstep, boat trailers are a familiar sight around Henley, and plenty of people also tow caravans or horse boxes along the A4130 and A4155. Trailer tyres are easy to forget. They often sit unused for months, and a trailer parked in the same spot all winter can develop flat spots and perished rubber even when the tread looks fine.
Before a trip, check the trailer's tyre pressures against the maker's figures, which can be higher than you'd expect, and look closely for cracks in the sidewall. Find the four-digit date code on the tyre: the first two digits are the week and the last two the year it was made. Old tyres can fail even with plenty of tread left. Remember that on the car itself, a heavy load usually calls for higher rear pressures, as shown in the handbook.
