Forest Roads, Motorway Links and an Epping Puncture
Drive in or out of Epping and you'll almost certainly pass through trees. The B1393 runs through the High Street and on through Epping Forest towards the Wake Arms roundabout, linking the town with junction 26 of the M25 to the south-west and junction 7 of the M11 to the north. Plenty of residents use those routes every day, alongside the quieter lanes out to Coopersale, Theydon Bois and North Weald.
A flat on a forest road, with no pavement and fast traffic, is not somewhere you want to be jacking up a car. Call us and a mobile fitter comes out with the tyre and tools, any time of day or night. We aim to reach you within 60 minutes in most cases, depending on your location and the traffic.
What You Get From Our Epping Fitters
Everything happens at the car, whether that's on your drive, in the station car park or in a lay-by. Included with every fitting:
- Free wheel balancing, done on the spot.
- Free disposal of the old tyre.
- The manufacturer's guarantee on every new tyre.
- A choice of premium, mid-range and budget brands for cars, vans and light commercials.
Jobs are given to the nearest available fitter from a network of more than 100 across England and Wales, people with many years of tyre-fitting experience between them. You pay when the work's done, by card, cash or bank transfer, and there are no hidden fees.
Mobile Tyre Services in and Around Epping
- Mobile tyre fitting: have a worn or damaged tyre swapped at home, so a commute down the M11 starts on good rubber.
- Puncture repair: where the hole is small and in the main part of the tread, a proper repair keeps the tyre in use.
- Van tyres: tradespeople working across Epping Forest district can have van tyres fitted at the job, so the day carries on.
- Breakdown recovery: available when a car is stranded on the motorway or has damage that can't be fixed at the roadside.
The Town, the Villages and the Junctions
We cover all of Epping, from the High Street to the outskirts, plus Coopersale, Fiddlers Hamlet, Theydon Bois and North Weald Bassett. On the roads, we regularly attend the B1393, the A414 near North Weald, junction 7 of the M11 and junction 26 of the M25.
Heading towards London? We also have fitters working in Enfield, Ilford and Romford.
Wet Leaves and Shaded Roads: Keep an Eye on Tread Depth
Roads through woodland stay damp long after the rest of the town has dried out, and in autumn they're covered in fallen leaves. That's when tread depth matters most. The grooves in a tyre clear water from under it; as they wear down, the tyre grips less and takes longer to stop.
The legal minimum for a car is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tread, but grip in the wet drops off well before that, and many drivers choose to replace at around 3mm. A quick check is the 20p test: put the coin in the main groove, and if you can see the outer band, the tread is getting low. Check all four tyres, and look across the full width, since wear is often uneven.
If the tread is close to the limit, there's no need to wait for an MOT to point it out. We can fit replacements on your drive at a time that suits you, before the darker, wetter months set in.
