Getting Harlow Drivers Moving Again
Harlow was laid out as a new town, so most trips involve a short hop along a distributor road and then out onto the A414 or the M11. Junction 7 sits to the south-east of the town, and since 2022 junction 7a has given the north side its own way onto the motorway. Good road links are handy until a tyre goes soft halfway to work.
That is where we come in. Rather than you driving on a damaged tyre or waiting for a garage slot, a mobile fitter comes out to wherever the car is: a residential close in Great Parndon, a car park in the town centre, or a business estate on the edge of town. We operate 24/7, and we aim to be with you within an hour in most cases, depending on traffic and exactly where you are.
It does not have to be an emergency, either. If you know a tyre is wearing thin or has picked up a nail, you can book a fitter for a time that suits you, at home in the evening or at work while the car is parked anyway.
What a Harlow Call-Out Looks Like
You phone or message us with the location and, if possible, the tyre size. We pass the job to the closest available member of our network, which has more than 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales. They arrive with a matching tyre and fit it on the spot.
A few things come as standard on every Harlow job:
- Free balancing so the new tyre runs smoothly.
- Free disposal of the tyre that comes off.
- Manufacturer's guarantee on new tyres, whatever the brand.
- No hidden fees, with payment by card, cash or bank transfer.
Harlow Tyre Services in Brief
Mobile tyre fitting for cars of all sizes, with tyres from budget to premium. It suits people who would rather have the job done on the drive in Church Langley than sit in a waiting room.
Puncture repair when the damage allows it. Small holes in the central three-quarters of the tread can usually be fixed; anything outside that, or larger than about 6 mm, means a replacement.
Van tyre fitting for businesses based in and around Harlow and for drivers running parcels up and down the M11.
Breakdown recovery if the car cannot be fixed where it has stopped, for instance after wheel damage.
Harlow Neighbourhoods and the Towns Around It
Our fitters cover every part of Harlow, including Old Harlow, Newhall, Church Langley, Potter Street, Netteswell and Great Parndon. We attend jobs on the A414 through and around the town, the link road to junction 7a, and the M11 itself.
Beyond Harlow, we regularly travel to Bishop's Stortford, Epping and Hertford, and the villages in between.
Use the 20p Test on Your Tread
The legal minimum tread depth for cars in the UK is 1.6 mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, all the way round. Grip in the wet drops off well before that, which matters on fast roads like the A414 and the M11 when it has been raining.
A quick way to check is the 20p test. Push a 20p coin into the main grooves at a few points around each tyre. If you can see the outer band of the coin, the tread is getting low and it is time to think about replacements. Check the inner edge as well as the outer: uneven wear often starts on the inside, where you will not notice it by just looking at the car.
If a tyre is close to the limit, we can bring a new one to your home or workplace before it becomes a problem.
