Tyres replaced and punctures repaired at the roadside in Dewsbury, Thornhill and Savile Town

Getting Dewsbury Drivers Back on the Road
Dewsbury sits in a bowl of hills, with Earlsheaton, Dewsbury Moor and Thornhill looking down on the town centre and its ring road. Most trips out start on one of three roads: the A638 east to junction 40 of the M1 and on to Wakefield, the A644 west through Mirfield towards Brighouse and the M62, or the A652 Bradford Road north through Batley and Birstall. If a tyre gives out on any of these, or on the drive before work, we bring the fitting to you.
Our fitters are on call 24 hours a day, all week. We aim to be with you within 60 minutes in most cases, depending on where you are and how the traffic is moving around the ring road.
It doesn't have to be an emergency. If you've noticed a tyre that's worn close to the limit, or one that keeps losing air over a few days, you can book a fitting for a time that suits you. We'll come to the house in the evening or to your workplace during the day, and the car is ready again before you need it.
Why a Mobile Fitter Makes Sense Here
Driving any distance on a flat destroys the tyre and can damage the rim, so the less you move the car, the better. A fitter who travels to you saves that risk, and saves you sitting in a waiting room.
- Local cover: jobs go to the nearest free fitter from a network of more than 100 across England and Wales.
- No extras added on: wheel balancing and removal of the old tyre come free with every fitting.
- Guaranteed tyres: every new tyre, budget or premium, is covered by its manufacturer's guarantee.
- Easy payment: card, cash or bank transfer, with no hidden fees.
Our Services in Dewsbury
- Mobile tyre fitting: a new tyre fitted outside your house in Ravensthorpe or Chickenley, at work or in a town-centre car park.
- Puncture repair: small punctures in the middle of the tread are repaired to British Standard guidance; anything near the edge means a replacement.
- Van tyres: for the vans and light commercials running between jobs around Dewsbury, the ring road and the M1, so one bad tyre doesn't stop the whole round.
- Breakdown recovery: when the wheel is damaged as well as the tyre, or the car has stopped somewhere you can't safely stay.
Where Our Dewsbury Fitters Go
We cover the whole town: Savile Town south of the river, Thornhill, Thornhill Lees and Thornhill Edge, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury Moor, Earlsheaton, Chickenley, Boothroyd, Flatts and West Town, along with Hanging Heaton on the Batley side.
Beyond that we work along the A638 to Ossett and Wakefield, up the A652 to Batley, and west to Mirfield, Brighouse and Huddersfield.
The 20p Test and Why 1.6mm Is Too Low to Wait For
The legal limit for car tread is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, all the way round. A quick way to check: push a 20p coin into the main grooves. If the outer band of the coin is hidden, there's more than enough tread. If you can see the band, the tyre is getting close and should be measured properly.
Don't treat the legal figure as a target. Stopping distances in the wet get noticeably longer as tread wears down, and Dewsbury's hills give you plenty of downhill junctions where that matters. Check each tyre in a few places, including the inner edge, which wears unseen if the tracking is out.
