Tyre Trouble in Boston? We Come to the Car
Boston is a meeting point for three main roads. The A16 heads south towards Spalding and Peterborough, the A52 runs west to Grantham and east towards Skegness, and the A17 links the town with Sleaford and King's Lynn. Between them sit long, straight fenland roads, often with a drain alongside and not much of a verge, which makes a puncture out of town more awkward than it sounds.
We send a mobile fitter to wherever the car is, at any time of day or night. In most cases we aim to arrive within 60 minutes, though the distance out into the countryside and the traffic on the way will affect that. You stay with the car, or carry on at home, while the tyre is changed.
In town it is often a simpler story: a soft tyre spotted on the school run, or a screw found in the tread on a driveway in Fishtoft. The fitter comes to the address, does the job on the spot and leaves you ready to drive.
Reasons Boston Motorists Use a Mobile Fitter
Out here, the nearest workshop can be a fair drive from where a tyre goes down, and driving any distance on a flat usually ruins the wheel as well. Having the fitter come to you takes that risk away.
- Over 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, so there is usually someone within reach of Boston.
- Balancing included and your old tyre taken away for disposal, both free.
- A choice of budget, mid-range and premium tyres for cars, vans and light commercials.
- Every new tyre covered by the manufacturer's guarantee.
- No hidden fees, and payment by card, cash or bank transfer.
Boston Tyre Services
- Mobile tyre fitting: new tyres fitted outside your house in Skirbeck or Wyberton, at work, or in a gateway off one of the A-roads.
- Puncture repair: small holes in the central three-quarters of the tread can usually be repaired; anything closer to the shoulder means a new tyre.
- Van tyres: useful for anyone running vans between Boston and the farms around it, where a van off the road for a day costs real money.
- Breakdown recovery: for a car that has slid onto a soft verge or has damage beyond a tyre change.
Boston's Suburbs, Villages and the Towns Beyond
We cover the whole town along with Skirbeck, which wraps round its south and east sides, Fishtoft and Wyberton. Further out we reach Kirton, Frampton, Sutterton, Algarkirk, Swineshead, Hubbert's Bridge and Sibsey, plus the A16, A17 and A52 and the old London Road through Wyberton.
Neighbouring pages include Spalding, Skegness and Sleaford, all of which we cover too.
Fen Road Safety: Where to Stop With a Flat
The roads around Boston are flat and straight, which tempts people to keep going on a deflating tyre until they find a good place to stop. The problem is that many of those roads have a ditch or drain right beside them, and pulling half onto a soft verge can leave the car tilted or stuck.
If a tyre goes, slow down gently, put the hazards on and look for a farm entrance, a lay-by or a firm hard standing rather than the grass edge. Get everyone out on the side away from traffic and stand well back. Then call us with the nearest village name, a road number or a pin dropped from your phone's map, as road names can be hard to pin down out on the fen.
