Between the Chiltern Escarpment and the Vale of Aylesbury
Princes Risborough lies where the Chiltern hills drop down to the flat vale, and the roads reflect it. The A4010 climbs out through Saunderton towards junction 4 of the M40 and High Wycombe, and runs the other way through Monks Risborough to Aylesbury. The B4009 heads across to Longwick and towards Chinnor and junction 6. Away from those routes, lanes wind up the slopes to hamlets such as Whiteleaf, often narrow, steep and lined with high banks.
If you get a puncture on one of those lanes, or wake up to a flat on the drive, we can come to you. A mobile fitter arrives with the tyre and tools and sorts it where the car is, without you having to drive it anywhere. We take calls at any hour of any day, and in most cases aim to be with you within 60 minutes, depending on traffic and how tucked away you are.
Why Locals Prefer the Fitter to Come to Them
Out here, getting a damaged car to a tyre bay can mean several miles on a tyre that should not be driven on. Having it done at home or at the roadside saves the wheel and saves you the trip. With every fitting you can expect:
- An experienced fitter, the closest available from our 100+ across England and Wales.
- Free wheel balancing before the car goes back on the road.
- Your old tyre taken away for free.
- The tyre maker's guarantee on any new tyre we fit.
- Card, cash or bank transfer, with the price based on tyre, time and place, and no hidden fees.
Our Princes Risborough Tyre Services
- Mobile tyre fitting: choose from budget, mid-range and premium tyres and have them fitted on the driveway, on a street near the Market Square or at work. Commuters who leave the car at Princes Risborough station can arrange for it to be done there.
- Puncture repair: we repair where it is safe to, which generally means a small hole in the central part of the tread.
- Van tyres: for builders, farmers and delivery drivers covering the villages either side of the hills.
- Breakdown recovery: if a car is stuck on a steep, narrow lane where there is no safe space to jack it up, we can move it.
Villages and Towns Around Princes Risborough
Our fitters cover the town itself and the villages and hamlets around it, including Monks Risborough, Askett, Whiteleaf, Longwick, Saunderton, Bledlow and Great Kimble. We also cover the A4010 between the M40 and Aylesbury, and the B4009.
Nearby towns with their own pages are Chinnor, Thame, Wendover and Aylesbury.
Narrow Lane Tip: Mind the Verge When You Pull In
On a single-track lane you often have to tuck into a passing place or onto the verge to let someone by. The edge of the tarmac is where the worst damage hides: broken edges, deep ruts, flints and drainage gullies covered by long grass. Dropping a wheel into one at speed can split the sidewall or crack the rim.
Slow right down before you move over, and use a proper passing place where there is one rather than the soft verge. After a jolt, glance at the tyre when you next stop. A cut or bulge on the side of the tyre is not something we can repair, so if you spot one, call us rather than carrying on, especially before a run on the A4010 or the motorway.
