Tyres Fitted at Home, at Work or on the Bypass
Newmarket's bypass is a dual carriageway that has kept through traffic out of the town since 1975, and for most of its length it carries the A14. At its western end it meets the A11, while the old A11 route through the town is now the A1304. The A142 sets off north towards Ely and Chatteris. With Cambridge around fifteen miles away, plenty of people here spend part of every day on one of these roads.
If a tyre fails, we bring the solution to you. A mobile fitter comes out to your car, on the High Street, on a driveway in Exning or pulled over safely beside the bypass, and gets you moving again. We operate around the clock, and in most cases we aim to arrive within 60 minutes, though this depends on your location and the traffic.
Why Call a Mobile Fitter Instead of a Garage
A garage means getting there, and often waiting. A mobile fitter means staying put. When you ring, we find the nearest member of our network, which includes more than 100 fitters across England and Wales. They arrive with the right tyre and do the job on the spot.
There's no charge for balancing the wheel or for taking away the old tyre. New tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee. Prices are competitive, with no hidden fees, and you can pay with card, cash or bank transfer.
The Work We Do Around Newmarket
- Mobile tyre fitting. Budget, mid-range or premium tyres fitted wherever the car is parked, including at stable yards and farm entrances where there's safe, level ground to work on.
- Puncture repairs. If the hole is small and in the main tread, we repair it. If it's in the sidewall or too large, we'll fit a new tyre instead.
- Van and light commercial tyres. For the many vans that serve the racing industry and local businesses.
- Breakdown recovery. When the vehicle has to be moved, for example after wheel damage.
Exning, Kentford, Moulton and Further Afield
We cover all of Newmarket and the villages around it. Exning lies just off the bypass to the north-west, Kentford sits by its own A14 interchange to the east, and Moulton is a short drive away along the B1063.
Our fitters also work in Cambridge, up the A142 in Ely, and east along the A14 in Bury St Edmunds, so we can help wherever your trip takes you.
Because the bypass and the A11 carry so much long-distance traffic, a lot of our calls come from people who don't live locally at all, just passing through on the way to the coast or the Midlands. If that's you, there's no need to know the area. Tell us the nearest junction or the direction you were heading, and we'll find you.
Towing a Horsebox or Trailer? Check the Tyres First
Horse racing is the business of this town, and a lot of local cars and 4x4s spend weekends towing horseboxes or trailers. Towing changes what your tyres need. Many vehicle handbooks give a higher pressure for carrying a full load or towing, so check that figure and set the rear tyres to it before you go.
The trailer's own tyres deserve attention too. They often cover low mileage, so the tread can look fine while the rubber is cracking with age. The four-digit date code on the sidewall shows the week and year of manufacture; if the tyres are getting on in years or showing cracks, replace them before a long trip.
