Tyres Fitted on Matlock's Hills and Valley Roads
Matlock is the county town of Derbyshire, sitting on the south-eastern edge of the Peak District with the National Park right on its doorstep. The A6 follows the Derwent valley through the town, north towards Darley Dale and south through Matlock Bath and Cromford, while the A615 climbs away east towards Tansley and Alfreton for the M1. Away from those roads, many streets are steep, and parking on a slope is part of daily life.
If a tyre goes flat, you don't have to wrestle with a jack on a hill. Call us and a mobile fitter will come to the car. We operate 24/7 and, in most cases, aim to arrive within 60 minutes, though valley traffic on a busy weekend can add time.
Plenty of the jobs we do here are for people who live on the steeper residential streets above the town centre, where the car spends every night parked on an incline. Others come from visitors who've driven up the A6 for the day and found a soft tyre when they got back to the car park. Either way, the fitter works out the safest way to lift the car, chocks the wheels and gets on with it.
What You Get When We Come Out
You tell us what's wrong and where you are, and we arrange for the nearest available fitter to drive out. With over 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales, someone is usually not far from the Derbyshire Dales.
- The tyre is fitted where the car is parked, as long as it's safe to work there.
- Balancing is included for free.
- We take the old tyre away free of charge.
- New tyres carry the manufacturer's guarantee.
At the end you can pay by card, cash or bank transfer. The price is agreed up front, and there are no hidden fees.

Matlock Bath, Starkholmes and Surrounding Villages
We cover the whole of Matlock, including Matlock Bank, Matlock Bridge and Starkholmes, along with Riber on the hill above. Nearby we reach Matlock Bath, Cromford, Darley Dale and Tansley, and we attend on the A6 and A615.
Our fitters also travel to Chesterfield, around nine miles to the north-east, Belper further down the Derwent valley, and Derby.
Parking on a Slope Without Scuffing Your Tyres
On a steep street, turning the front wheels towards the kerb is a sensible habit, as it stops the car rolling into the road if the handbrake slips. The trouble is that many drivers do it by pressing the tyre hard against the kerb stone, and over time that scrapes the sidewall.
Sidewall damage is never repairable. A deep scuff, a cut or a bulge means the tyre has to be replaced. Turn the wheel so it just touches the kerb rather than grinding into it, and check the outer walls of your front tyres every few weeks. If you see a bubble or exposed cords, don't drive on it: call us and we'll come to you.
