Margate Tyre Call-Outs, Day or Night
Getting in and out of Margate by road usually means one of two routes. The A28 Canterbury Road starts on the seafront and heads west through Westgate-on-Sea and Birchington before turning inland, while the A299 Thanet Way links the Isle of Thanet back to Herne Bay, Whitstable and the M2. Closer to home, the terraced streets of Cliftonville and the roads behind the harbour have cars parked nose to tail, which is exactly where a kerbed sidewall or a slow leak tends to show up.
Wherever the car has stopped, you don't need to limp it to a workshop. Our fitters are mobile, so they come out with the tyre and tools and do the work on the spot. That's true at three in the morning as much as on a Saturday afternoon, and we aim to reach most Margate addresses within 60 minutes, depending on traffic and how busy the night is.
From Phone Call to Fitted Tyre
- Describe the problem. A flat, a bulge, a tyre that won't hold air: tell us, along with the size moulded into the sidewall.
- A nearby fitter is dispatched. Our network has more than 100 mobile fitters spread across England and Wales, so the job is handed to whoever is closest to Thanet.
- The work is done where you are. Balancing is free and so is disposal of the old tyre. New tyres keep the manufacturer's guarantee.
You're told the cost before anything is fitted, with no hidden extras, and you can pay with a card, in cash or by bank transfer.
Our Services Around Margate
- Mobile tyre fitting: new tyres in premium, mid-range or budget ranges, fitted outside a flat in Cliftonville or at a house in Palm Bay.
- Puncture repair: we repair rather than replace whenever the damage is small and in the central part of the tread, in line with British Standard guidance.
- Van tyres: for tradespeople and couriers working Thanet's streets, so one bad tyre doesn't wipe out the rest of the day's drops.
- Breakdown recovery: if the wheel is damaged beyond a tyre change or the car is somewhere it can't stay.
Cliftonville, Garlinge and the Rest of Thanet
Our cover takes in the town centre and seafront, Cliftonville and the Palm Bay estate to the east, Westbrook and Garlinge to the west, and on along the A28 to Westgate-on-Sea and Birchington. We also attend breakdowns on the A299 and around the retail area at Westwood Cross.
The same fitters work across the rest of the island, so if you're in Ramsgate or Broadstairs, or further along the coast in Whitstable, give us a call. Drivers on the A28 towards Canterbury are covered too.
Tight Terraces and Kerbed Sidewalls
Parallel parking on narrow terraced streets means a lot of wheels brushing the kerb, especially when you're squeezing into the last gap at the end of the road after dark. A light scuff on the rim is cosmetic, but a hard knock can cut or pinch the sidewall, and that's one part of a tyre that can never be repaired.
After a heavy clip, look along the outside face of the tyre. A bubble or bulge means the internal cords have broken and the tyre could fail without warning, even at low speed. A deep cut that shows fabric is just as serious. Don't drive on it to work and hope; call us and we'll fit a replacement where the car is parked. When you park, approach the kerb slowly and use the passenger mirror tilted down if your car has that setting.
