A Mobile Tyre Service Built Around Kingston's Roads
Anyone who drives in Kingston upon Thames knows the one-way system. The A307 and A308 share a loop around the town centre, feeding traffic to and from Kingston Bridge, while the A307 also follows the river south towards Surbiton. East of the town, the A3 Kingston bypass carries fast traffic past Tolworth and New Malden. A tyre that goes soft on any of those roads leaves you with little choice about where to stop.
Our answer is to bring the tyre to you. A fitter arrives in a van carrying the equipment to remove the wheel, fit the new tyre and balance it on site. You won't need to nurse a damaged tyre through the gyratory to reach a workshop.
We run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In most cases we aim to have someone with you within 60 minutes, with the usual caveat that it depends on your exact location and how the traffic is moving at the time.
Why Kingston Drivers Call Us Instead of Driving In
Driving to a garage with a punctured tyre risks wrecking the sidewall, and a space saver isn't meant for a run along the bypass. Here is what a visit from us includes:
- The nearest available fitter from a network of over 100 across England and Wales.
- Balancing on the new tyre, done free.
- Your old tyre removed and disposed of, also free.
- The manufacturer's guarantee on every new tyre we supply.
- Competitive pricing with no hidden fees, payable by card, cash or bank transfer.
Services Across the Royal Borough
- Mobile tyre fitting: a choice of premium, mid-range and budget tyres fitted outside your home in Canbury or Norbiton, or wherever you've left the car.
- Puncture repair: when the hole is in the central three-quarters of the tread and under 6 mm across, a proper repair is the sensible choice and we'll tell you so.
- Van tyres: tyres for vans and light commercials, fitted on site so a trade or delivery round can carry on.
- Breakdown recovery: if the wheel is damaged or the car is stranded somewhere unsafe on the A3, we can arrange to move it.
Norbiton, Surbiton, Tolworth and the River Towns
In Kingston itself we reach the town centre and the Canbury, Grove, Norbiton and Tudor areas. Beyond those, our fitters regularly cover Surbiton, Tolworth and New Malden, plus the A3 between the Scilly Isles junction and the edge of London.
Parked in a town-centre multi-storey or on a terraced street near the station? Mention any height barrier, pay machine or tight bay when you call, and the fitter can plan the approach before setting off.
Across the bridge and around the borough we also visit Twickenham, Richmond, Wimbledon and Esher.
Tread Depth Before a Wet Run on the Bypass
The legal minimum tread depth for a car in the UK is 1.6 mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre. That is a floor, not a target: as tread wears down, the tyre clears less water, and on a fast dual carriageway in heavy rain the difference in grip and stopping distance is real.
A quick check takes a minute. Slot a 20p coin into the main grooves at a few points around each tyre. If you can see the coin's outer band, the tread is getting low and it's time to plan a replacement. Most tyres also have small wear bars moulded into the grooves; once the tread is level with them, the tyre needs changing. Check the inner edge as well, because wear there is easy to miss.
