Haverfordwest: Pembrokeshire's Road Hub
Three main roads meet at Haverfordwest. The A40 comes in from Carmarthen and Narberth and carries on north to Fishguard. The A487 sets off north-west towards St David's. The A4076 starts at the Salutation Square roundabout, bypasses the town to the south-east and runs down through Merlin's Bridge and Johnston to Milford Haven. If you live here, you probably use at least one of them most days, and a fair share of tyre trouble happens on them.
When it does, you don't have to find a garage that can fit you in. Ring us and a mobile fitter drives out to you with the tyre you need. We're available around the clock, every day, and in most cases aim to reach you within 60 minutes. Pembrokeshire is a big, rural county, so on the far edges it may take longer, and we'll tell you honestly when you call.
A Roadside Fitting, Step by Step
First, we take down where you are and what's happened, ideally with the tyre size. Next, we allocate the job to the nearest fitter in our network of over 100 across England and Wales. Then the fitter arrives, checks the tyre, and either repairs it or replaces it beside your car.
There's no charge for balancing the wheel or for taking your old tyre away. New tyres come with the manufacturer's guarantee. You can pay by card, cash or bank transfer, and we don't add hidden fees.
It suits planned work too. If you know two tyres need replacing before the MOT, we can book a time to fit them on your drive in Prendergast, at work or wherever is easiest.

Coverage Across the County
In and around town we cover the centre, Prendergast and Merlin's Bridge. Beyond that, our fitters attend cars on the A40 towards Narberth and Fishguard, the A487 towards St David's, and the A4076 south through Johnston to Milford Haven, with Pembroke Dock also within reach.
Because the town sits at the centre of the county's road network, a fitter already working nearby can usually get out along any of these routes without doubling back, which keeps waiting times down for drivers coming in from the coast or the villages.
Heading east, see our Carmarthen page; heading north up the coast, our Aberystwyth page.
Coastal Lane Tip: Mind the Verge When Passing
Many of the minor roads off the A487 and around the Pembrokeshire coast are single-track with passing places, banks and stone walls. When you pull over for an oncoming tractor or camper van, it's easy to put a wheel against a hidden rock or a sharp kerb in the grass.
Slow right down before you tuck in, and stop rather than squeeze if there isn't room. A sidewall hit at speed can cause a bulge or cut that can't be repaired, and sometimes it doesn't deflate straight away. If you've had a hard knock, pull in somewhere safe and look at the outside of the tyre. Any bulge, split or exposed cord means it needs replacing before you drive any further than you have to.
Visitors driving hire cars are often caught out by this, so it's worth passing on if you have family staying.
