Bideford Drivers, We Come to You
Bideford straddles the River Torridge, joined to East-the-Water by its old Long Bridge, while the A39 Atlantic Highway sweeps past downstream on the high Torridge Bridge near Northam. That bypass carries traffic between Barnstaple and the Cornish coast, and the town's own streets are often narrow and lined with parked cars.
Out of town, there are coastal roads to Westward Ho! and Appledore and quieter lanes heading inland. Wherever your tyre gives up, a mobile fitter can drive out with a new one or a repair kit and get the job done where you are, with no tow and no workshop queue.
We cover the area 24/7 and aim to reach you within an hour in most cases, though it depends on traffic and how far out you are.
Why Bideford Motorists Call Us First
- You stay with the car. No driving on a flat, no waiting room, no lift home to arrange.
- Free extras that count. We balance new tyres and dispose of the old ones at no charge.
- Guaranteed tyres. Every new tyre comes with the manufacturer's guarantee.
- Help from nearby. Our network of over 100 mobile fitters across England and Wales means the job goes to whoever is closest to Torridge.
- Honest pricing. The quote depends on tyre size and brand, and that's what you pay, by card, cash or bank transfer.
If a puncture can be repaired safely, the fitter will repair it. If it can't, they'll explain why and fit a replacement during the same visit.
Car and Van Tyre Services Around Bideford
Fitting. With mobile tyre fitting, a new tyre goes on outside your house in East-the-Water or in a car park on the quay side of town.
Repairs. Puncture repair is carried out to British Standard limits: central tread only, and damage no bigger than 6mm.
Vans. Tradespeople and couriers working along the Atlantic Highway can book van tyre fitting without taking the vehicle off the job.
Recovery. For a broken wheel or a car stuck in an unsafe spot, breakdown recovery is on hand.
East-the-Water, Northam and the Coast
Our Bideford coverage takes in the town centre and East-the-Water across the river, Northam beside the Torridge Bridge, the coastal villages of Westward Ho! and Appledore, and Abbotsham to the west. We also respond to drivers on the A39 in both directions.
Up the estuary, our Barnstaple page covers the Taw side of North Devon, and inland we serve Tiverton at the far end of the A361.
Visiting the beaches for the day? If you come back to a soft tyre in a car park at Westward Ho! or by the water in Appledore, call us from there. Sand and seaside parking are no obstacle, as long as the car is on firm ground the fitter can jack against.
Where's Your Locking Wheel Nut Key?
Most cars have one locking nut on each wheel, and it can only be undone with its matching adaptor. Lose that key and even a simple tyre change gets much harder. It's surprising how often it turns up missing: left in a garage after a service, thrown out with a glovebox clear-out, or sitting in a different car altogether.
Check now that yours is where it should be, usually in the glovebox, the boot tray or with the jack. If you can't find it, tell us when you call. Our fitters can deal with most locking nuts without the key, but knowing in advance means they come prepared. Keeping the key code card from the car's paperwork makes ordering a replacement easy.
