Mobile Tyre Fitting in Bedford

Bedford is Bedfordshire's county town, and its road network fans out in every direction. The A6 runs north to south through it, the A428 passes through on its way between Northampton and Cambridge, and the A421 swings round the south of town as a dual carriageway, out to the A1 in one direction and to junction 13 of the M1 in the other. A lot of Bedford's traffic uses that bypass every day, at a steady 70mph.

Hitting a deep pothole or clipping a kerb hard can knock the wheels slightly out of line. You might not notice anything straight away, but over the following weeks the car may drift to one side on a straight road, the steering wheel may sit off-centre, or one edge of a tyre may start wearing much faster than the rest.

Run a hand across the tread of each front tyre now and then. If the inner or outer edge is noticeably more worn, or feels feathered, the alignment probably needs checking. Fitting new tyres without fixing the cause just means they'll wear the same way. Our fitter will point out uneven wear if they spot it, so you can get the tracking looked at.
